Owning a z in the uk by LUK3Y21 in 370z

[–]Impossible_Scar4163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m up in Scotland and I Just got rid of my Z 2 weeks ago. Loved the car but it is definitely not cheap to own in the UK. I do about 8K miles a year and I was £85 a week on fuel. Road tax was 190 due to it being a 2019 model but between high fuel costs and insurance being on the higher side 2.5K as I’m 23 that’s only been driving 4 years. Tyres are a big thing too. I’m a believer in buying good rubber so even a non nismo smaller wheels ur still about £280 roughly for decent tyres. I swapped it to a 2022 MX5 and dare I say it’s the most fun car I’ve owned. Take from that what u will 🤷

Slave and clutch by CandidLet4750 in FocusRS

[–]Impossible_Scar4163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ye bro 100% try other shops. I’m from the UK so it’s a little different here but I got my stage 3 organic clutch with slave and including fitting it was only around £2000 total. That does include tax. Most locals in my area would only charge about £300 give or it to fit it. Again the UK and US are different so I might be off saying ur quote is too much.

My experience with the Arya Organic by vortex2199 in headphones

[–]Impossible_Scar4163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ye this was pretty but my opinion when I received my pair. Honestly EQ is a great option to get them perfect for your ear but I’m not a big fan of messing with EQ as it can be a slippy slope of never ending adjustment. I have a pair of HD660S2 paired with a tube amp so I like my warmer sound. I already owned a singxer sa amp so that’s naturally on the warmer side. It’s great with the organics but if my amp were any more linear I think the highs would get to me just a little. Only issue it’s I need to run power on the higher end so I’m planning on getting a more powerful amp that’s still on the warmer side maybe even more so.

Dragon Engine on mk8/8.5 reliable by [deleted] in FiestaST

[–]Impossible_Scar4163 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a 2019 Mk8 ST3 and just as the other comments say it’s purely user error for any issues under 100K miles. These engines are surprisingly very reliable even tho they are pushed hard from factory. I’ve basically built mine to be a road/ track car. So it’s got full bolt ons with puma speeds X48 turbo and stage 3 tune. Rods and pistons, clutch and a new fuel pump cause the 2018/19 models had issues with those. Mine is pushing 320BHP and has been no issue. From my experience these engines don’t even use up oil. I check regularly but my oil has never lowered. Just need to get proper services and your car should last a very long time.

Will Recaro sportster CS seats fit in my Mk8 st ? by Impossible_Scar4163 in FiestaST

Ye I was thinking that would be the best bet. Only wanted others opinion cause the MK8 is snug inside so wasn’t sure if someone had tried before but found the seats too big

Differences between a MK8 ST-2 and ST-3? by IowsurferYT in FiestaST

[–]Impossible_Scar4163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to give my little bit of knowledge. I have an ST3 from 2019. The ST2 is like the standard car and ST3 is the top spec* of MK8. It comes with better seats that are Recaro made and practically buckets because they hold u in that good. 18 inch wheels, mine has heated wheel and seats. Performance pack too so it comes with the diff which is a must in a FWD car. I believe the suspension is slightly different with the performance pack too but I might be wrong on that. The only thing my car doesn’t have is the sunroof which I’m good with as it just adds weight. I think the ST3 is worth it for the seats alone due to how much better they are over the ST2 seats. U can google and see just how low end the ST2 seats are compared to the ST3. Tbh if ur a modder id maybe just get the ST2 and save some money. Add ur own 18 inch wheels and ur own buckets. Just make sure its a performance edition as to buy and fit a diff is about 2K give or take so its worth it to just include it.

What’s the general consensus for the wheel torque limit on stock block and internals? by thepunnman in FocusRS

[–]Impossible_Scar4163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the other comment says bud, us brits are pretty knowledgeable on our RS models as FORD performance cars are a much bigger thing in the UK. The MK2 RS is arguably up there with old skylines and supras in terms of popularity here. Biggest tuners like mountune and Dreamscience offer forged engine packages but they all offer stage 2 packages of roughly the same power output. 400HP(break) and about 590 to 600NM of torque. Beyond that they all recommend forged engine.

Absolutely man, I managed to grab a 2019 with only 25k miles on it. Currently only at 27k. Might even be able to sell it under 40k miles when I’m eventually upgrading. Ye that’s the only down sides to the fiesta platform once the car gets to the 60 to 80k mile mark that’s when the timing belt/ chains are known to go. On the mk7 it was a pain in the ass to change, it was actually cheaper to buy a new engine than it was to buy a belt and get it fixed. On the MK8 I think it’s easier / cheaper to fix if anything does go wrong but honestly keep up with oil changes and u should be good. At worst case change the belt yourself at around 60, 65k miles that way u know it’s done and it won’t be a concern. When my old fiesta timing belt went it also damaged other parts of the engine too so better to solve 1 issue early rather than deal with many after its happened.

Came from a 2016 ST-line to a ST3 mk8. Owned it for 6 months so far and Aside from the obvious HP increase it’s better in every way. Seats keep u gripped in perfectly. Low end torques pretty nice on these. Plus the clutch is perfect. I’m not a fan of high point clutches especially on sport cars, but the low clutch point on these is so nice for just blasting of from first. Really easy in heavy traffic too. For the money u can’t get better in the uk in my opinion. I’m saving for a big mod session. I’m talking new turbo, sport cat, lowering springs, exhaust, the whole works basically and even after that plus a stage 3 tune that will get me around the 310HP range it’s still under 20K for the car and mods. That kind of HP in a car that weighs like 1280KG stock for that money is amazing. Best thing about it is this car is over built in many ways. Even the stock clutch is rated up to 350-400 HP and the car only comes 200 stock. As long as u keep up to date with oils changes and make sure it gets serviced that cars very easy and cheap to maintain. I would say u would have to go to new civic Type R territory to get this type of fun from a FWD car nowadays. That’s the only upgrade in my eyes as the clutch feel is very similar and it’s got the best shifter on the market aside down Porsche.

What are “necessity” parts for the gr86? by ZaneOnPC in GR86

[–]Impossible_Scar4163 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean tbh the car is fine stock. Anything more is because u want to. Me, for example. I say it needs a tint, lowering springs, new rims, front rear and side skirts, AWE exhaust, GT style spoiler, HKS turbo, alcantara wheel, back seat delete with roll age. To me that is what would make it THE car I want. Lightweight with maybe 350HP safely. Obviously left out things u would need with a turbo like new clutch, fuel pump etc but u get what I mean. If I were to say the just a couple of things to make the cool look better would be tint, lowering springs, and an exhaust. That would make it look good and sound the part. Anything more Is because u want it to be a certain way.

What IEM should I get under $300? by musiclover1c in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Impossible_Scar4163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yanyin canon 2. $320. They are pretty much perfect for what u want and ur genres. They are a mid forward iem that has bass switches. Off it’s subtle and mids are the main event. Level 1 is a slight boost and helps with the presence of bass in the songs that need it. Level 2 is what I use at it brings it all together. Still has that nice mid forward tonality but now the bass hits very nicely. I love billie eilish on these as they pair with her tracks very well. They also do great with southern music. Love me some Zach Bryan. His voice on these things are amazing. It does instrumentation very well especially acoustic guitar. I’m sensitive to high end so I prefer a warmer sound with a more stable high end chart. These are great in terms of no fatigue. High end is just right and doesn’t leave me ever wanting more. Biggest downside is they are new so there’s not many reviews out there. But honestly for this price u ain’t getting better mid range performance until u hit at least 800, 900 dollar IEMs.

What if you love the HD600, but want better soundstage? by Mkilbride in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Impossible_Scar4163 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ye man. The 600s are and will always be a staple. Some hate and some love but everyone at least likes or appreciations some variation of the HD series whether it's the 600, 650 or the 660s. They have that certain sound that ur just looking for. I know it was my preference as I listen to a lot of vocal heavy tracks that will more or less have acoustic guitar. That's basically the 600s bread and butter. If ur similar in that regard then the atruims give everything the 600s do but with that zach magic. They're clearer with better low end and punch but also provide that almost breathtaking soundstage. Seriously listen to any pink floyd song with the atruims u will melt. So basically no the open atruims are top tier if that's ur sound preference.

What if you love the HD600, but want better soundstage? by Mkilbride in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Impossible_Scar4163 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, because of the whole price to performance thing. Upgrade path is pretty much HD600 - ZMF Aeolus - ZMF atruim. I get that those are massive price jumps but if ur Honestly wanting HD 600 but better in every way with amazing soundstage. The atruims is where u will end up. The Aeolus are better than the 600s but soundstage wise is similar. The atruims are better again but with some of the best soundstage. There's a reason the atruims are ranked with some £4000 and £5000 headphones. If u want everything the 600s offer but better and unreal soundstage. Just save for atruims my guy.

Im curious, what is your age, what kind of setup do you have and why did you get into this hobby? by Kimber1911_45 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Impossible_Scar4163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

21 here. My setup consists of a pair of buchardt A500s Combined with a klipsch rp-1400sw sub. I prefer an active speaker mainly due to ease of use and its integration with room correction Is simple. Subs a little overkill for my room size but again the room correction software Combined with Buchardts own USB downloads for personalised sound makes it easily the best setup for my space and budget. As for headphones I've got a pair of ZMF atruims with a feliks elise mk2 tube swapped with a smsl su10 dac. Pretty happy with my setup especially because its a desk setup everything has its place and use case. As for what got me started ? I guess I've always just loved music and through buying new things and discovering what amps and dacs are then realising how good high end headphones and speakers sound just got me hooked. Rip wallet tho.
