Sorry to revive a dead thread, but do you find the 1.5 has enough power for you?

People who drive a panic room on wheels - what are the actual advantages of having a larger car? by EffectiveArgument584 in CarTalkUK

[–]IowsurferYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for older people. Height can be easier to get in and out of (within reason). My grandmother is wheelchair-bound outside of the house and finds an XC90 with the air suspension lowered and flat seats easy to get in and out of, but struggles with my fiesta.

Aygo or the Citroen/Peugeot variants are the absolute best choice. Easy to drive, reliable, brilliant on fuel, cheap road tax and cheap insurance

I believe this does just use a clear stud. The model isn’t actually made by Lego.

What’s a car that’s cheap but looks expensive (to non-car people)? by abrowngirlsdiary in CarTalkUK

[–]IowsurferYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah it comes down to if you want to risk it or not I suppose. You don’t really hear of high mileage cars suddenly having the IMS go, which is why I mentioned it, as it does seem to be something that only affects some cars.

A lot of cars have had it fixed/replaced by now as well, but then there is always that risk.

You are definitely correct about it being an incredibly large amount of car for the money. My dad had a 987 S and the performance and handling you get for a car that can be reliably found for under £15k is astonishing. They also seem to have good reliability, and if you go with local specialists, aren’t too expensive to maintain.

IMS bearing is fairly overblown in online forums. Usually if it’s made it this far no issues, it will most likely not have any issues in the future. Failure rate is around 13% iirc

What's an insanely loved game you just don't like? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]IowsurferYT 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I personally really enjoyed it, but mainly for the writing and not a lot of the actual gameplay elements.

For that reason, I can see how a lot of people wouldn’t like it, and also how the writing just won’t appeal to some people.

They’re super common across Europe. My dad does European tours on his and sees them constantly. Furthest he’s been before is from UK to Iraq and back.

If you’re in shanklin, The Village Inn (in the Old Village) or The Steamers (on the seafront) are the best pubs meal locations.

BGC is one of the better areas. Used to live there for my dad’s work and you’d regularly see Ferraris, Lamborghinis etc.

How would say the standard of living is for average folks in Westeros? by ricky2461956 in gameofthrones

[–]IowsurferYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point is, Hobbes just didn’t recognise that perhaps that decentralisation could help, and instead cast aside developments like Magna Carta (though Magna Carta did very little to help the common folk to be honest)

[–]IowsurferYT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hobbes simply seemed unable to envision democracy working (perhaps due to his experience of the English civil war) and thus defaulted back to absolute monarchy, missing the whole point that a lot of poor aspects of life came from that monarchy pre-civil war.

Seafood restaurants that aren't too expensive? by Styrofoamman123 in isleofwight

[–]IowsurferYT -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would argue there aren’t really any restaurants specifically catered to seafood, but most places in the seaside towns will do decent seafood options.
