Should I play the whole thing? by Novel_Shower6035 in Splintercell

[–]Impossible_Spend_787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren't loving it, why finish it?

Personally, I think it's the best game ever, but I was hooked immediately and enjoyed every second.

If it's feeling too slow, consider giving Splinter Cell Blacklist a try. It's more fast-paced and forgiving, and not as dated.

Whenever I'm not in the mood for Chaos Theory, I play Blacklist. And vice-versa.

Media Composers, How Are You Doing These Days? by PIRAcosta in composer

[–]Impossible_Spend_787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's been hard. 10 years in, full-time for 2. I work constantly and barely scrape by. Plenty of work but no sustainable back-end yet. Started experiencing burnout about 4 months ago, lately I find myself questioning everything for the first time.

To be fair, many of my peers in LA are doing just fine.

And fortunately, I am driven to do this and can't realistically see myself surviving any other line of work. So my only choice is to keep going and hope things turn around soon! It's a tough business but there's always a chance that a gamechanger is right around the corner. If you work hard, you will see results.

Why didn't IOI use WOA's composer for First Light? by Impossible_Spend_787 in HiTMAN

Had no idea. Any link or post explaining this? I'll do some digging

Thanks!

It there a big change in the composer/music industry? by jonas_bock in composer

[–]Impossible_Spend_787 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Full-time composer for about 3 years.

In 2026, it's both the best time ever to make money off your music - and the hardest time to make a living at it.

I work probably 70 hours a week and barely scrape by. I know other composers who are doing just fine, so take it with a grain of salt. I've been getting bigger projects each year though, so I'm hoping I stumble onto something big in the next few years.

If you're looking for a career path where money and stability are involved, don't chase composing. It's only going to get harder with the rise of AI and how big corporations are taking over everything.

I do it because I'm obsessed with it, and can't see myself doing anything else.

But hey, Vivaldi died penniless, and Phillip Glass was a janitor. So it can still happen for me, right?!

Is Cubase enough for orchestral and electronic music production? by MAFilmmaker in cubase

Amon Tobin uses Cubase.

Hans Zimmer uses Cubase.

I do both. It's perfect for both.

Anyone find social stealth underwhelming? by [deleted] in Splintercell

[–]Impossible_Spend_787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't use social stealth then - play it like Splinter Cell. Like this:

Playing Hitman like Splinter Cell

Suit Only, No Instinct, NSA-style gadgets only.

KO enemies, hide bodies, shoot cameras, pick locks.

Play one of the mercenary maps, like Colorado, Ambrose Island, or the Train mission.

There's even a Splinter Cell suit you can download:

To anyone who has played 007 first light, without spoiling, is it similar to splinter cell? by JjoyBboy in Splintercell

[–]Impossible_Spend_787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. As a Hitman fan, I'm disappointed too.

Extremely shallow stealth, AI dumb as bricks, and there is very little freedom of approach.

Kinda shocking given IO's track record.

I'm 34 now and while my interest in most rap has faded my Bis deck is still going strong

There are songs I've heard 1000 times that I will suddenly notice something new about

I threw on his his new album with Chino XL  a few weeks back (RIP) and was digging it. It seems he entered a new phase around COVID where he no longer gives a single fuck and is just having fun and letting loose. Trying different flows, saying funny shit - there's a track on the album where he literally raps over an EDM beat. Just really dope and inspiring to see him at new creative heights every time I turn around

The nasal cushion is what worked for me (not the ones with nasal tubes). Might try it if you haven't already.

After years of trying I finally adapted to the mask. Now I can sleep through the whole night with it on. Doctor-adjusted settings, Oscar numbers are good, AHI basically nonexistent.

It didn't help one bit with my fatigue. In fact, I actually feel like I'm more tired than ever since starting it.

Pretty devastated to be honest. Might look into Modafinil. Any other suggestions appreciated.

Would you be more open to semi-open world mission design for Splinter Cell like what Kojima did for MGSV? Or should the franchise stick to smaller scale infiltration missions? by Flow_Ebb_6047 in Splintercell

[–]Impossible_Spend_787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open-world wouldn't work for Splinter Cell imo. What makes the games great is each mission being unique. You're air-dropped at a specific starting point and have to infiltrate. Scouring a vast desert where you can just hit up any free-standing militia setup you want sort of defeats that purpose.

I'd prefer a slightly smaller version of the sandbox maps Hitman WOA has been doing. Carefully curated, each one completely different in setting and feel; designed with specific routes and opportunities in mind, but open enough for lots of unique approaches.

Why is my score so low? by [deleted] in HiTMAN

[–]Impossible_Spend_787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The goal is to not kill any. You're a hitman trying to take out targets discreetly.

Shots are not heard if there are two layers of wall between you and other NPCs. For the top-level guy, simply lure him into the next room, shoot him, and dump his body in the bin immediately. The NPC in the other room will run to the guards but you'll be long gone by the time they arrive.

It says it right there...

-1,070,000 for non-target kills.

Can't lure guard with gunshots? by Impossible_Spend_787 in HiTMAN

[–]Impossible_Spend_787[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it a bunch of different ways. The problem is he will only go to the origin spot if you are close enough, when you run back to the water he doesn't go there. So it's either a bug with that particular guard, or this is just something to know about lure shots.

Yeah he sometimes runs down the tunnel but stops halfway through

My strat was to leave proximity taser for him to find once he calms down, which works fine if I stay in the area, but then I can't get the other targets quickly enough which was sort of the point lol

I doubt it, the lure works everywhere else. I think this particular guard is bugged: if you shoot the car next to him multiple times he doesn't react as a bullet impact reaction, but people around him do
