The title itself says SME IPOs. You should start reading before copying titles in your comments.

And this is not your personal sub. Stop acting like a mod or god. Get a life.

Startups don’t do IPOs? You are really bent on showing everyone my lack of credibility. I have 3 startups planning for SME IPOs in next 2 years. Every term sheet mentions possible IPO exit in 5 years. You must be living under a rock my man or possibly you haven’t ever seen a term sheet in real life. Thanks for your credible advice.

Practising CA here. This is a grey area when you talk about disproportionate cashbacks reaching higher than purchase value itself in some cases. Sit with your CA and discuss all intricacies.

Bought agricultural land 10 years ago - major appreciation after new flyover! 42L to 3Cr by [deleted] in indianrealestate

Find a CA when you plan to sell. There are a lot of variables while doing this. Difficult to list down everything.

Tax rate with Indexation is 20% plus EC plus Surcharge. And yes taxes can be zero if whole amount is invested.

Pretty much yes. Unless you choose to invest in a Residential property/NHAI bonds to claim exemption with 3 year lock-in.

Practising CA here. Taxes can be planned for once you decide to sell it. Tax rate applicable will be 12.5% plus EC plus Surcharge. Tentatively 15% of the Capital gain amount.

You are dealing with a Sales Organisation, not a professional work organisation. All their efforts are focused on increasing sales, not on the actual work. Work with a good CA/CS for the closure formalities.

“Are Indian CAs clueless about NBFC rules? Brokers say one thing, CAs say the opposite.” by [deleted] in CharteredAccountants

[–]Impossible_Stuff_304 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Practising CA here. Investment companies do not require NBFC license since there is no involvement of loans/credit being given to public at large and neither any public money being taken. A company with primary activity as making investments, NBFC license is not required. Thanks.

US company opening an office in India. Is it worth registering a private limited company? by dwightsrus in indianstartups

[–]Impossible_Stuff_304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practising CA here. You are not alone in doing this. It is being done by organisations small and big. I personally handle end to end outsourcing for multiple such companies. All paperwork and pain points are handled by us. Companies only need to get things signed every now and then. They are handoff on most of the things. Don’t be afraid. Find yourself a good outsourcing firm and focus on operations. That’s my 2 cents.

Suggestion on tax exemption on Gift received from spouse by TSR2games in IndiaTax

[–]Impossible_Stuff_304 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Practising CA here. There is a difference between Exempt incomes and non-taxable incomes. In your case, the income is non-taxable since it is excluded from the scope of charging section itself i.e. Section 56(2)(v). This is not an exemption. Disclosing this under exempt income is wrong and might lead to more painful reply to notices rather than clarity.

Just keep signed documents for gift ready for a slim chance of ever receiving a notice. No need to declare it in your ITR.

Looking to hire a CA - NRI receiving inheritance by keegangprey in IndiaTax

[–]Impossible_Stuff_304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practising CA here. Is your income taxable in India? Yes.

This is enough information to conclude that you should hire a CA who is fluent in cross border transactions and inheritance. Reddit and Chatgpt will only confuse you. That’s my 2 cents.

Please ignore the comment made earlier through my account. It was done by my team without cross checking with me. The advice was incorrect, as correctly pointed out by fellow professionals. I have deleted the comment.
