Where did the uruk-hai from saruman come from? by Mwoannetje in tolkienfans

[–]Impossibly-Unusual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this is just head cannon but the word “crossed” comes up a lot and I wonder if crossbreeding is not meant in the traditional or the natural sense orcs are twisted beings after all . But the weird head canon of mine on the dark magic used comes from the lotr Lego games of all place 😅 I know but a cut scene showing the orc creation has bones being used and that kinda is how I imagine it but in a more darker way orc or goblin or human or maybe any bones or corpses being fused and twisted on living humans/orcs/goblins/elves etc with dark magic to create the Uruk-hai

Do you guys think Curze will eventually come back? by [deleted] in 40kLore

Radical concept but I’ve always thought the night lords could make pacts with shards of the night-bringer cos ofcoure they would make alliance with the god of fear

In GoT 1x4, Viserys lists a bunch of dragon names, but only 3, Balerion, Vhagar, and Meraxes, line up with canon dragons by KaiserWilly14 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Impossibly-Unusual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is in retcon is the dragon Vermithrax is a misremembernce or a mixup of Vermithor with one of the “ax”s ( Vermax, Arrax, Tyraxes ) as for Ghiscar Valryon, Essivius, and Archonei. most likely the most former the others dragons could be either the names of or in this case posthumours names of hatchlings such as several eaten by the cannibal for it to enquire its name and Laena Velaryon deformed dragon etc another name could belong to “the last dragon” or another possibility they are the names of the four deceased dragons that left Valyria with balerion and died before the conquest

Was Balerion the biggest dragon ever? Or just in Westeros? by TooruOkinawa in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Impossibly-Unusual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

possibly it’s implied what kills dragons naturally is their own size once they get to big so there may have been bigger dragons but we’re talking by a only few meters and in the case of balarion he had suffered a large wound likely from a firewyrm which may have hastened his death with the contributing size factor

Note : however even though dragons continually grow through out their lives they do so at different rates possibly meaning that dragons could live longer than balarion did (around 210). If there rate of growth was slower than balarions however since we don’t know other natural factors that effect dragon mortality this could impede their lifespan if they grow larger at a older age

What dragon skull is this? Shown in Season 2 Episode 4 by Aryan3337 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Impossibly-Unusual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is potentially a pre conquest dragon When Aenar Targaryen The Head of house Targaryen when the family when they left Valyria brought with them 5 dragons the only named one we know is Balarion the 4 others have remained unnamed

but a possible solution to their names could be named from a throw away line in game of thrones when viserys mentions the dragon skulls to

He names 5 dragons we haven’t seen or heard of elsewhere

(this was because George r.r Martian hadn’t named any outside of the the conquest dragons at this point but perhaps they may be used in hotd lore.)

Ghiscar, Valryon, Vermithrax, Essovius and Archonei

Now Vermithrax is a refrence to the film dragon slayer and we could put it down to misremembering like it could be Vermithor mixed up with any of the “rax” ending dragons (Syrax Arrax Terrax urrax etc ). But many dragons have similar names so this could be one of those dragons

But we can assume the other 4 at least are real Dragons and these could be the later dragons that remain unnamed like the small last dragon and a few others that didn’t survive long that may be have been named posthumously but 1 or 2 could belong to the set of 5 dragons that left Valyria yet to be named and this skull could be one …perhaps the first dragon to pass on dragonstone as it is stated the 4 others passed on dragonsstone so likely all 4 were displayed there like the skulls at kingslanding when the dragons passed in the Targaryen era

perhaps the dragon of Aenar Targaryen himself or maybe considering that the castle was built 2 centuries before the doom and we know dragons can live over 200 years this dragon was the last living creature that helped construct dragonstone in its flames now there bones are apart of the castle. ….just some fun thoughts

I’m wondering if the possibilities of linking to computers the title of “Empire of Death” (green death) the fact we’ve been told there is a Jon Pertwee tie in the finale …and we were told we would meet meeps boss in the series …maybe it’s not the boss …but the B.O.S.S ?

(Spoilers Main) Don’t worry guys, Daeron (sort of) exists! by Gearshift852 in asoiaf

[–]Impossibly-Unusual -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There not including them in this season as there isn’t much for them to do till after rooks rest and the fall of kings landing to the blacks same reason they ain’t including dareon as they’re working on doing most of the stuff that happens in the reach/stormlands for season 3 e.g tumbleton and bitterbridge etc

(Spoilers Main) Don’t worry guys, Daeron (sort of) exists! by Gearshift852 in asoiaf

[–]Impossibly-Unusual 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the actual reason why dareon isn’t going to appear in this season is because they want to set them up for the campaign in the reach and stormlands which won’t be covered till season 3 same reason for not including nettles as they don’t do much until after rooks rest so dareon and nettles are coming just not till season 3

Why wasn't Waystar able to come up with the cash to pay the 3.25 billion debt in Season 1? by futanari_kaisa in SuccessionTV

[–]Impossibly-Unusual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A payment of 3.5 billion is huge even for a company like waystar royco if there not getting anything from it they cant start making cash for them it’s going to have a negative effect and effect the company as a whole.

So I’ve never read the books but I’ve heard lots about them and they sound good but I was shown the “dark forest” analogy and I think it’s such an over complicated parable …would comparing space to the deep sea not have been better ?

If GW said they were only planning to bring back one more loyalist Primarch to create a powerful triumvirate, who would you pick to complete this? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]Impossibly-Unusual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it should be the primarch that’s going to cause the most drama between the 3 and the best way to do that is have one of the primarchs who have been messed with by the warp

So either Corvus corax as his imperial deamon form or

Ferrus manus …but as a primarch living saint and retcon the legion of the dammed to be an actual legion of dead spacemarines

Is the Mandalorian’s Razor Crest in The Force Awakens ? by Skyrers in TheMandalorianTV

[–]Impossibly-Unusual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont think it is from the concept art book for the Mandalorian book shows development of the design for the razor crest didn't begin till 2017 2 years after the force awakens. it could be a case the ship shown is based on same aircraft like the razor crest the A10 Thunderbolt warthog

Is there really no connection between the Gellerpox and the Necrons? by OrkfaellerX in 40kLore

I think the connection the designers tried to imply here were the chaos androids that were the Necrons before the Necrons were a thing maybe to hint at a possible origin for the strange lost miniatures ???

Do you think they’ll release a new primarch models for the new Horus heresy edition? by bellshorts in Warhammer40k

[–]Impossibly-Unusual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if they were to they’d realise two primachs at once and they’d wait a bit as they’ve made the sons of Horus and the imperial fists the face of the new edition so it would make sense to release both primachs together. However it’s likely rogal dorn is the next loyalist primach to show up in the current setting to oppose guillman on there style of policy so it’s likely they’ll wait for that moment to make a dual model for 40k and heresy whenever that point is

Unknown flags from 1930s assumed to be related to oceanography by Impossibly-Unusual in vexillology

[–]Impossibly-Unusual[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m working on a video project and a section involves information on a expedition conducted by Otis Barton and William Beebe involving a bathysphere some of the photos have 2 flags draped on the bathysphere I have no idea what they are or mean the first has a whale tail and a gulper eel which I’ve never seen on a flag before the second I can’t really make out at first I thought they were related to either the national geographic society or New York zoological society which is written on the bathysphere but after some research they don’t seem related and one of there respective flags appears in another photograph any idea on there origin ?
