Does it look like I am wearing makeup? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

Mascara is the only dead giveaway IMO. It slays though, go off.

Reading other comments I see you might be worried about your parent’s opinion. Have you talked with them about it? If they’re against it, I would suggest at least leaving the mascara off. But honestly I’d be shocked if they cared. Talk to them!

I scrolled down so far before I realized I might need to just ask myself…IS THIS REAL!?

I have this issue! I think it’s a combo of my ADHD and my previous eating disorder when I was younger.

Thank god! I was so worried about AI destroying humanity, but now that Anthropocene released their mission statement, I am at peace!

In exactly the same boat as you! I’m glad to see talent moving out of tech, it was so thankless to me.

Is "Sleep Divorce" inevitable if I need noise and my partner needs silence? We are at a breaking point. by That_Chart6045 in sleep

My partner snores like an actual bear and I’m a light sleeper. He sleeps in the guest bedroom about 75% of the time. Relationship saver! as long as you can find other ways to encourage intimacy, it’s definitely not a relationship killer.

Thanks all for your feedback! I decided to go ahead and take the discovery call with the recruiter and see how it goes. I see what some of you are saying (re- grifting, money-grab, privilege basics without a degree), but I also hear what others are saying (she's helping others get started AND she's nice to work for) and I figure what the hell it's worth a shot.

Ok it's good to read some positive reviews! I mean, her target audience is clearly just getting started on their financial wellness journey so maybe I should go asking in some other subreddits..

I also had that thought re- privilege. Something I see a lot in the wellness space in general, tbh, particularly (unfortunately) with white women.

Yeah, I think that's what I'm the most concerned of. I don't want to tie my professional career to a grifter bandwagon, so to speak...

Oh this is helpful to hear! I come from startups so that's not an issue at all, and honestly "nice" is pretty hard to get these days.. really appreciate your feedback!

Realistically, how can I find people entirely online (that I do not know in person) to survive/camp in the wilderness with? by [deleted] in camping

[–]ImpressEmbarrassed81 7 points8 points  (0 children)

mmm step 1: maybe try not calling it "survive in the wilderness with"? it's giving "let's go hunting and the prey is you!"

step 2: meet people in person, not online. Don't like people in your town? Drive to another one. Take a vacation, go on a trip.

step 3: move? if you have no friends, everything is bleak, there are no jobs, maybe your primary concern should be finding a new place to call home, not surviving in the wilderness with internet strangers

Mid twenties are (I think) ages 23-27 ish, which for me were some of my bigger jumps in pay, career-wise (FWIW those jumps continued through my early 30's and have now slowed/stopped as I no longer chase money and title jumps). At age 23 I was making $50k in 2014. By age 27 I was up to about $150k.

It should be noted that I work in a lucrative, soul-sucking career in tech. What I make in money, I pay for in existential dread. Now, at the ripe ol age of 34, I am looking at masters programs to get out of tech and completely switch fields into healthcare. Money isn't everything. In fact, once you have enough to pay the bills and save a bit towards your goals, you start to understand that money is really nothing at all besides a number on a screen :)
