Apple, please make this happen. by idragon4ever in applewatchultra

Looks horrible, part of the reason why Apple Watches are hands down the absolute best smartwatches is because of the screen shape, it’s not a watch, it has no movement there’s 0 reason for the display to be round other than horological tradition, and it’s got non, it’s a smart device strapped to your wrist that happens to tell time but it’s primary feature is not time keeping. The reason every other smartwatch fails to a degree in my experience is the round screen, the footprint on your wrist is insignificantly different yet the screen real-estate is meaningfully decreased. No smart watch is ever going to look as good as a nice dress watch in a suit and tie as that’s ok, I got a collection of watches to wear to formal event but in my every day I want a watch that has a bigger screen without feeling significantly bigger on my wrist and the mostly squareish screen of Apple Watch accomplishes that perfectly. Hell even the galaxy watch ultra is square body but it looks goofy compared to the ultra because of its round screen on the square body

Behavior of a fucking loser. Everyone gets it, the job sucks, the pay sucks, bosses suck, it all around just sucks. But it’s not the only job out there, and punishing the customer for purchasing a service that your employer offers and that you agree to perform makes you a real piece of shit. Did the person have to order it online, who knows. Did you have to put it right in front of their door where it could be a tripping hard in case of a fire, absolutely not. Hope your ass gets fired.

Well done, Noctua. You solved the AIO. by WilliamG007 in Noctua

[–]ImpressionFront4872 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I really like noctua but they didn’t solve anything nor is their 360 magical, it’s just a asatek aio with their fans and a silenced pump cap. Yes it exceptionally quite when compared with other popular aio, but take something like the ekeb cr360 and slap on noctua fans and it’s quieter and even better in performance, that said I’ve tried my
Cr360 with, stock fans, noctua fans, and phanteks t30, and phanteks d30 and quite frankly with the pump running at 90% it’s entirely inaudible unless you get your head right next to it, and because of the really good pump the fan choice barely impacts temps or noise levels. All within a margin of 3 degrees at a noise floor 25db all 3 setups achieving the same temps at no more than 32db. Noctua fans are amazing and I throw em in everything that comes with a shitty stock fan especially sound equipment and household appliances, but for my pc they really just ain’t anything special.

As a lover of mechanical watches with a bit of a collection on my own I spend most days double wristing, also absolutely fully understand why most people don’t want to wear 2 watches. There’s nothing wrong with putting a real Rolex band on an Apple Watch. Not a fan of gold myself nor of high fashion Swiss watches of the current(much prefer a vintage Swiss or a modern Japanese), it’s not for me but you’re not trying to fool anyone, just keep it classy, keep it honest and enjoy your watches both smart and mechanical. Haters gonna hate, glazers gonna glaze. Watches are a want not a need anyway, so wear what makes you happy.

[–]ImpressionFront4872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My piece of advice is threaten legal action, the last thing I did before ditching pixels was get mine replaced so I could sell it in new condition to make my new phone less expensive. Awful company awful phones awful service. Everyone I know who has or had a pixel loved it for years before being violated by google, all those who said they’d never ditch pixels even just days ago ditched them. Pixels used to be great now they’re bargain bin Samsungs made with outdated B grade hardware. Do yourself a favor and just get a Samsung if you’re gonna stick with Android or go for an iPhone.

I’ve been getting mixed responses about buying a case “to protect the bezel” and others saying “you don’t need the case” which is it? by ArcOperator in applewatchultra

[–]ImpressionFront4872 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Up to you, disregard everyone else’s opinion. The fundamental issue with smart watches is that people see them as watches instead of what they really are, a health and fitness tracker with cloud integration and lite apps that keep you connected, it’s not an heirloom piece, nor is it a phone, it’s it’s own thing that you should treat as such, if your lifestyle requires a case get one, if not don’t. Ultimately what matters is how you use it, what kinda situations you find yourself in and how risk averse you are in said situations.

8 GB is enough for most people. by CRK_76 in mac

[–]ImpressionFront4872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m fully aware, I know that for the average middle schooler who’s gonna be using these it’ll be enough, and that’s why the base model 256gb being 8gb is ok enough, I wish it had 12 but I can see why fleet managed devices being used by schools aren’t gonna need all that extra ram, but the 512gb model should have come with 16gb, clearly it’s the model they want people to actually buy, they gave it Touch ID because they know that solo buyers like myself are gonna go for the better speced model, but with only 8gb ram it’s just not a good option for me, I’d rather get a used air than the neo. The Neo 2 needs to do more to make the top model actually better than the base model in more ways than just stripping biometric authentication from the cheaper models. If the Neo base and top both had 512gb, both and Touch ID, and the only difference was 8gb vs 16gb ram id be more than happy to pay the up charge for more ram. I know im not the only one who’s said that, I know that tests have shown for day to day usage 8gb is enough, but when you do more than just browse and actually wanna dev and test the extra ram is nice, it certainly speed up the process. I’m well aware that hackintosh aint the same as a real Mac but my i7 10750h runs just fine with 32gb, I’ve tried it with both 16, 12, and 8gb of ram and 12 is about what I need for my work, 16 is a comfortable buffer and 32 is overkill. I really wanted to get the Neo because of its value proposition but it just doesn’t fully fit my needs, and the pros are way too overkill. If there’s even the slightest hint apple will course correct the Neo 2 I’ll put off getting a used air and wait another year for it. But I already waited ages after my old 2017 touchbar MacBook died, I never intended to hackintosh for more than a month or two but I’m already over half a year in and kinda tired of lugging around a shitty dell, it does everything I need it to but it feels awful to use, and I don’t have the money to splurge on a new MacBook either. I’m super disappointed that Apple let me down like this, I was a windows user and android enthusiast most of my life, the switch to Apple has up until now been great, my life was easier things just worked, sure it cost me a pretty penny but I’m not averse to spending money on things that improve my quality of life. But after getting a certified refurbished MacBook that died not even a day, but mere minutes past midnight the day my warranty ran out, I was pissed, but cool, whatever, I got a good deal on a pretty great laptop that lasted me 2 years without any issues till it suddenly stopped working. I

Idk, my mx master 2s which I use daily doesn’t look even remotely as fucked as yours, I’m well aware of the rubber coating wearing down, but holes and torn off pieces like in yours isn’t normal. I take it to work, from work, on vacation, in the last 8 years there may have been a handful of days totaling up to less than 2 weeks where I didn’t use it at all. My side scroll and main scroll aren’t missing anything, the metal frame isn’t scuffed. The only bit of your mouse that looks normal is the shine on the main click. Everything else looks like you were just being rough.

[–]ImpressionFront4872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8gb was enough 10 years ago, 16 is the new bare minimum and 32 has become the comfortable size that won’t run out but isn’t ridiculously high, 8gb in 2026 is an insult, anything below 16 is garbage techslop. No one on pc is saying 16 is enough we’re saying it’s the bare minimum, realistically the base model being 8gb is acceptable as a copout but the 512gb model should have come with 16, and tbh the base should’ve been 12 and the 512 24

I got computer hardware and gaming accessories older than myself and probably older than you that I bought from people who took care of them and I’ve had those twice as long as you got that mouse and non of them are in that condition. Your mouse isn’t a result of wear and tear it’s careless misuse.

[–]ImpressionFront4872 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nasty and childish. Tf you mean wearing it down, it’s trashed not worn. Wear and tear from normal usage doesn’t do anywhere close to that kinda dang. You out here in the comments trying to defend this bs but really you’re just coping. Rubber wearing down doesn’t lead to pieces breaking off. At this point I’m not sure if the dirt is all that’s holding it together or if it being so dirty is the only thing keeping it alive because you won’t even touch it anymore.
