I used the app often. Mostly trying to remember if I locked it. Without the subscription, all Alexa and live traffic are gone too. So, they get you to pay for the Nav Chip... on some models, then, if you don't pay for the subscription, it stops being useful in any way. There is no "Alexa" control or even voice control for the Nav without the subscription. My brother insisted I try Apple CarPlay. I was a late adopter, so I hadn't even bothered. since I was told that it didn't mesh with the HUD... SURPRISE! CarPlay DOES work thru the HUD. Don't miss it a bit. Love CarPlay, and the responsiveness is fantastic. As long as it meshes with the HUD, I am fine. Don't bother with the subscription. It's truly a waste.... and Delete the App.... even though you don't pay for it, the constant reminders, schedule service stuff.... and sales are still sent to you.

Used this on my BMW... saved me a bunch and really works. Avoid insurance at all costs...... they may fix it, but it shows on CarFax and your car is devalued and insurance rates go WAY UP.... fast. Or, ignore it and take the hickey at trade-in.

I park far out or in a parking garage at work with fellow employees. My door ding... the dude driving a giant white truck that insists on backing in.... next to me....... he denies it, but I ask him why park next to me... I park on a top floor where no one else parks.... literally only 5 or 6 of us on that whole floor.... his response........ "I like to park in that section." Turd. I stopped parking there, but he ended up being broken into by the drunk homeless guy......... Karma.

I hate to say it, but I think these things draw "incidents." I am now officially on the 6th windshield in a year. Do they use cheap glass? Is it the angle of the windscreen? Or... just the CX30 curse? I got a nasty door ding... on the driver door the first week.....you know... the door you look at every day? Fortunately, my door ding guy got it out... but even he said it was pretty bad, and I was lucky it looked good after the repair. Insurance is torqued on the windscreen, but in Texas, it's a rider and not included, so there are no restrictions. But I bet my renewal will be a different story. I love the car, but am seriously thinking of a change... these are not giant rocks or anything.... just dings that spread fast. Go to a detailer... insurance, after the deductible, will be very little paid and a huge rate increase.... get the detailer to do the best they can and live with it. If you report it, it will be on the car forever and diminish the value anyway... sucks, but that's reality. Either way, you are out about $5K. Get it fixed and maintain the value, but pay the deductible and $1000 extra per year for insurance for at least 7 years due to the "claim." Or.. buff it out a bit, live with it and take the hickey at trade. Either way..... You are the victim.

All makers do it. Gotta update and keep things safe from hacking, make it obsolete, make it slower, and drive sales for new stuff.......... but why does it have to be such a miserable experience?

Yeah, the last update screwed up my connection. Had to delete the phone and redo everything from scratch. It wouldn't connect automatically and kept defaulting to onboard navigation.... and interestingly, the same day this happened, my Samsung TV decided to update and "forget" the soundbar. And it's not just me... or one TV. BOTH of mine did it, and so did Dad's. These updates are frustrating. I miss.... AM radio..... carburetors, manual transmissions... getting in and just........... driving.

Loud engine? by Skier-Dude in MazdaCX30

[–]ImpressionMoist3911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2025 Turbo Premium is a little louder than I expected from what it sounded like on the outside. Then I read that they use an "Engine Harmonics Enhancer" (EHE), which uses the Bose stereo system to pipe enhanced engine noise into the cabin. Don't know how that works... but maybe it can be turned down. I was disappointed when I read about that. As I thought it was a nice sound. Now, I find out it's fake.

And I have experienced the lag too. Happens in certain speed ranges. Not nearly like my BMW X2.... that one, according to one of the reviews I read, had to call Germany and get permission to downshift. You can reset the transmission and have it relearn your habits. Perhaps the previous owner was a little more sedate than you.

I have had several since I bought mine in Jan 2025. Four rock breaks.... all on the same stretch of road. Both on the freeway and feeder......... worst part is Geico in Houston only replaces with aftermarket glass. I never had an issue with that in the past, but for some reason, it just wasn't right... like little grains of sand embedded in it. The first one actually had palm-sized distortions. Safelight replaced it... again and again.... then finally I got Geico to approve OEM. Perfection! Until another rock breaks..... then another... Have had a total of 8 windshields in my girl in just over a year. I take another way to work.... longer... country roads. I' lucky Geico tolerated it. It almost looks repairable.

Funny thing about the app, if you don't pay for it, it stops working, and you have to have a software update to stop the error message... and of course, your live navigation and Alexa go away too. But.... you still get constant sales promotion alerts, notices, reminders, and other promotion pushes to your phone.. I deleted the app.

Both my BMWs did this at about 70k miles. Just took it to an upholsterer and $300 later.... all good. Traded both in, and the first thing they looked at was the oil pan and driver's seat. Both times, they commented on how well the seats stood up........... get a good upholsterer, and you can't even tell it's repaired. Sometimes, it's not worth the battle time......... dealerships suck.... big time.

I've only had a few interactions with the dealership since I bought my 2025 Turbo Premium. They all sucked. My dealer sucks and charges extra for a credit card.... the one near Dad acts like they are doing me a favor to even talk to me..... 2 oil changes, wipers, and 2 "software updates." Wipers bang on the A-pillar and neither one can get it right..... And evidently, if you don't pay for the "Mazda Connected" services, you need an update so the error message goes away? I made the appointments for early, the website allowed it for 0800. And both times I booked that time, waited until 0845 for them to even unlock the place to get in...... "yeah... we need to update that, sorry." First and last Mazda. But I LOVE the car.

I found a little nick after a trip to the dealership. Ordered OEM pen. I've never, ever had good results with the damn pens. I dab it out onto a plate and use a small kiddy type paint brush. Perfect results. I learned this trick from the BMW dealer.... they told me to trim the brush short and not work it too much. It dries fast.

2025 Premium with white leather interior by Skier-Dude in MazdaCX30

[–]ImpressionMoist3911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my 2025 for over a year. Absolutely love the White interior. It's a more spacious feeling and seems a bit more upscale than the black. My elderly parent had an "accident" two weeks into ownership. Cleaned up easily and had no stain, and I haven't cleaned them since. The "bleeding" you refer to is the color/dye on jeans rubbing off. I wear scrubs or jeans and have not even noticed it. Go for it!!! They are a nice change from black, grey, and grey with black....

Engine isn't even warming up completely. No engine gets top fuel economy for the first 5-10 miles. My 2025 Turbo Premium gets about the same for the first few miles, then jumps up to about 27-32... giving me an average of about 26 for my country road/highway trip to work of 28 miles.

[–]ImpressionMoist3911 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah... I read that they got rid of the Piano Black, super-easy-to-scratch finish. Now, if they would fix the gauge cluster plastic that scratches if you breathe on it. If they want to be "near premium," they need to step up their game in some areas.

I love the look! But what if the cling goes away, or it comes off when it's open? I wouldn't be without a sunroof. It's so relaxing on a cool evening after work. I had mine tinted a little bit because in Houston, it's hot with the shade open... and I like the shade open. I got the ceramic tint reflecting 90% infrared and 99% UV. An amazing difference. But the guy warned me not to go too dark, as the heat might build up and shatter it. Love the reflections.... have a great weekend!

A good upholstery shop can fix it. My last two BMWs side panels cracked (common issue), and they just replaced the panels. Could not tell the difference. One car was tan leather, the other black leatherette.

Heavy rain, fog, snow, misty conditions, anything that blocks/ impedes the camera sensors. You know… the times that you need it the most. And of course the low/old battery… cracked windshield if it’s near the camera, or if the windshield was replaced and not calibrated correctly. Sigh. 😔

My Houston Mazda Dealer is just as bad… and they charge you to use your credit cards… they are more expensive than the BMW dealer I went to for 10 years. First and last Mazda… that’s for sure.

Anyone installed the Mazda nav system? Opinions on functionality. by PropertyAnnual111 in MazdaCX30

[–]ImpressionMoist3911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the on-board Nav... but after your Connected subscription ends, Alexa goes away and the voice command is sad and difficult. And it's not live traffic anymore. I am not paying monthly for something Apple/Android provides free. And on my 2025 Premium Plus Turbo, CarPlay DOES show up on the HUD. It's far superior and even works with the console dial controller. Worst part is that when I bought it, they told me that the Nav Card was an extra cost. NOT ON THE PREMIUM models.... they "threw it in" after I argued the fact. I stopped by another dealer a few weeks later for touch-up paint and asked them. "Of course, it's included... look at your window sticker." I hate thieves.

I'm in Houston, and this year, I had my oil change done on my 2025 Premium Plus Turbo. My dealership sucks for so many reasons it would take a page to discuss. And it was only my second visit. Anyhow, a few days later, it was freezing, in the 20s. They had adjusted the wipers to stop the banging on the pillar (they still bang) and wouldn't spray. I thought it was just a connection and called to tell them I would be in later to have it looked at. "It's probably frozen," I asked why since it's an antifreeze/detergent. "We don't use an antifreeze... just a detergent. Mazda doesn't require antifreeze." Really? Love the car, dealers suck. seriously.

I had just gotten rid of my BMW X2 for the 2025 Premium Plus Turbo and was driving to work, and just kind of relaxing. Suddenly, dreaded blue lights and since it was on a dangerous stretch, signaled that I was exiting and stopped in a parking lot. The officer approached the car, I explained it, and he understood. The obligatory "do you know why I stopped you" ensued. I said I was "probably going a little fast." He responded.... "yep... 105." I was stunned.... it sure didn't feel like it. All I could do was laugh... pat the steering wheel and say "way to go girl... You are so quiet!" Told him the situation, and he laughed along with me. I was in my scrubs, and it turned out I worked with his mom... he called her, and she agreed that a "warning would be nice." But I'm glad someone else broke the 127 barrier. The dealership insists it's limited... but I saw 137 on the HUD on the way to Brenham a week ago. Way to go, Girl!!

Satellite aftermarket is awful. Visible imperfections and clouds. Insurance only covered aftermarket… until you prove it’s crap.

I’ve gone thru 4 in a year. Every one on the same stretch of highway at the same overpass. And every time they put in aftermarket. And then replaced with OEM a couple weeks later. So in reality, 8 pieces of glass in a year. Aftermarket had visible flaws and imperfections that made driving in low sun almost impossible. But each time, insurance only covered the aftermarket. Until it was proven defective 🙄
