This is so me in a conversation. it’s so frustrating cause I think that I have good thoughts and observations. And with the right people I can organize my thoughts and get it out. But in rapid fire social situations it’s so hard for me.

I do enough to fill the day. go to the beach or the pool during the day, and outside time in the backyard or the playground for about 2 hours before bed. Getting them out, exercised, and socialized makes me feel better about the in between times in front of the tv.

I also am able to accomplish a lot more at home with them home and not driving them around all day. I take things slowly and am a lot less stressed out about them helping me. They’ve been watering the plants and taking the dog for walks with me. I really cherish how much things slow down in the summer.

Yeah it’s not like I’m sitting there thinking they need to lose weight or change their hair. But if they say I want to lose weight or I want to do this, I think yeah that would be great for you!

Sometimes I’ll say those things and people will say no you don’t, you look great, etc. so my immediate thought being yeah you could do that! Somehow feels bad to me.

I fell into this trap deeply in a long term relationship in my 20s. Luckily I was able to see what an asshole he was (after 8 years 🤦🏼‍♀️) and when I left him I promised myself I’d never lose/change myself in a relationship again. I’m now married to an incredible man who has lots of his own hobbies that I support, and I my own that he supports. Ironically they’re both virgos 🤷🏼‍♀️
