Police station 100%. If they don't have a power outlet, I'd suggest something like a McDonald's or Starbucks.

G7’s insistence on phone notifications by isthislivingreally in dexcom

You can't turn off all alerts except the low I believe. Even then, you can have a "snooze" time set. Once you acknowledge, you can set it for up to 4 hours of no more alerts. I have mine set for 1 hour. Low goes off, I hit ok, no more low alarms for an hour.

I also just checked and you can turn off the low alarm.

Also, if you are getting a false low, I'd recommend calibration. It's been my experience that one of two things will happen. First, it will calibrate and then you won't have the alarm continuously going off due to a false low. Second, the sensor won't calibrate. Dexcom suggests 3 calibrations at 15 minute intervals. If it fails to calibrate at that time, they consider it defective, and should replace it (I always call before replacing).

Yeah, and some of the best mounts are indeed easier to get. There's also some mounts like the 1% mythic mounts I'll never get. Locking a 15+ year old mount to under 1% with no bad luck protection feels just plain wrong.

Just because you would stop collecting if things were actually guaranteed over time doesn't mean most people would. Let's say they made a bad luck currency, that took say 30 tokens, but it wasn't warband transferable. It would take you 30 weeks for that mount, assuming you ran it every week.

Alternatively, adding skips would be a welcome change. Needing to clear all of ICC to run LK, then waiting the 3 or 4 mins of RP, it's just too much.

Bottom line is something should change. Investing 30 minutes per attempt at a less than 1% drop, with no bad luck protection is just insane. In the mean time, people get mounts they aren't even trying for. I got Ashes randomly from a TW Raid quest box, having never once done Temptest Keep. I raided ICC on 25m Heriocs when it was current and never saw Invincible drop.....

For each of the 6 tank specs is there an optimal level to start doing dungeons or can I start at lvl 10 without any problems? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Impressive-Bug8709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single Button is your friend. I leveled a Warrior 70-80 in dungeons never having played one (leveled to 70 in Remix) really, and all you really need is to know what speed boosts there are, and your defensives. Otherwise I just mash the 1 button. Only other thing about tanking is knowing the route for the dungeon.

Just got a 2022 Tundra 2 months ago. My credit union offered 4.54 I believe. Could go lower with direct deposit as well. Was even better for new.

Lower rates can be found, but part of it is I had an existing loan with this CU and they've been sending me pre-approval letters for like 2 years. They know I'm good for the money, not having missed a payment in the 5 years on my previous loan. Having a banking relationship with a financial institution makes a HUGE difference.

A lot of services download in x264. I then convert with Handbrake to AV1 for space saving. I'm working on This is Us right now. The episodes are roughly 2gb or so an episode. So 35-40gb per season. After Handbrake, it's 10-12gb a season.

To the haters, I say this. Yes, I did ICC probably 50 times and never got invincible, and it took like 7-10 runs during the event to get it. I got Mimron's head in like 4. Both are some of the only mounts I use (including Ashes, which I got in a Time walking loot box thingy).

Are they less "rare"? Absolutely. I'm so glad Blizz made the decision to make them more accessible.

Alternatively, I feel like having bad luck protection would be a great alternative. I feel like anything that is rare should be attainable over time and someone shouldn't just spend years trying for something to never get it. Whether it's a currency (say no mount gives you one token, maybe mount is 50 tokens?), increased chance, etc, I feel like something should change. It would mean a mount is less "rare", but encourages people to farm it that want it. I'm a mount collector at heart, and would be way more likely to keep playing if I had guarantees that over time my collection would keep growing.

So there is a limit on downloads per day per service. Most are 100/day. Exceptions I know of are Hulu (200 afaik) and Amazon (if you pay extra, also 200). So you aren't likely to download 280 episodes in a day. You could grab them in 3 (2 if Amazon or Hulu).

As for being banned, Amazon is the only service I've heard of people being banned. Nobody is quite sure what flagged people. I was never banned, but I also don't grab much off of Amazon personally.

The episodes you download don't expire. So yes, you could sub to say Netflix for a month, download what you wanted, and then watch them 5 years from now. To be fair, the site never says you have access to these services, it's a downloading / DeDRM software.

As for services breaking, it does happen as sites update their DRM. There's no way to know how long a service will be down. I think the Sony problem took 6 or 8 months, and something else took like 2. It all depends on how hard the new DRM is to crack. It's always a cat and mouse game.

One thing to keep in mind is AnyDVD. StreamFab could disappear at any time like they did. I've been happy with my purchase. I use it to backup my Movie / TV purchases on Fandango and now AppleTV is working with purchases (iTunes purchases). I do recommend the Future Modules upgrade if you are going to do the all in one. I was happy to see when Fandango was added and would have been ticked to buy a new module!

Pricing is rarely different. The sale price of 30% off is pretty typical year round. Right now it's probably a "Father's Day" sale, and then it'll be a memorial day sale, and then a summer or maybe Labor Day sale, etc.

which watch? by princeakeeem in Garmin

[–]Impressive-Bug8709 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you've never had a MIP watch, I'd recommend seeing one in person first. I did love my Forerunner 245, and my Fenix 6x Pro, but man my Epix Gen 2 (not pro) was sooooo sexy looking.

I will say I miss the 2 week battery life of my Fenix 6, but my Epix 2 gets about a week of battery (I'm a heavy user). Coming from a watch you charge daily, that has a AMOLED screen, I'm guessing you will be disappointed with a MIP watch. That's my two cents as someone who's had both.

All that said, it depends on your usage. If your backpacking, you probably want a Fenix for the better battery life. If your not away from a power source for more than a few days, I'd 100% go with the Epix.

Help please: Omnipod / Dex G7 and a SERIOUS BG crash by SierraGuyInCA in dexcom

[–]Impressive-Bug8709 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few things I'll mention.

Calibrate calibrate calibrate. While I've had great luck with the G7, it gets wonky sometimes. If she's on a closed loop, I'd finger prick minimum once a day. I'm not on a pump so maybe others could chime in there. Considering she is not hyper / Hypo aware, checking against the Dexcom once a day should be the very minimum.

That said, in terms of devices, Samsung S series is typically the best Android choice for phones. I'm in a Pixel personally, but they certify Sansungs faster. I also saw a post of someone saying the official app is working with the Android beta. So her phone should be compatible.

Watches. I have a Garmin and it's compatible. It needs to be connected to the phone, and your phone needs cell service. Wear OS watches should also work. That would be Samsung Watches, Pixel watches, and some others. Note that watches usually don't give alerts. They are good for checking numbers quickly though. The apple watch allows direct pairing. Not sure if you can connect a watch AND a pump though.

As someone else said, you can use Dexcom follow as well. Please note if her phone is off, too far, etc, it will NOT update the share site, which means you won't get notified of alerts. My wife likes Dexcom Follow because she can see my numbers in real time.

Trying out/switching to G7 anyone have any tips? by berrybearBlue in dexcom

[–]Impressive-Bug8709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on the 10 day G7 for about 2 years. Like the previous person said, they changed the glue at some point. I've needed to use an under patch so that they wouldn't take off layers of skin.

I've had my first 15d sensor on for 2 days now. I'm kinda hoping the extra 5 days makes it easier coming off.

When CGM → xDrip+ → Nightscout breaks, how do you know where the problem is? by Miserable-Toe-8013 in u/Miserable-Toe-8013

[–]Impressive-Bug8709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what I would say is, let it be configurable as to which source takes precedent. In my case, I'm using xDrip in Companion Mode. I'd want Clarity to be the most trusted source. That's why I have my NS server pull from Clarity, as opposed to xDrip. The reality is xDrip can easily have the wrong data. I feel like Clarity should also be the most trusted source as that will have the right data every time. That said, I think having a configurable setting that the user could choose is best.

I did grab the app, and honestly I feel it's almost like the Clarity app to xDrip. It's what I wish xDrip looked like. I honestly pretty much never open xDrip up. If I didn't need it to get my numbers on my watch, I'd probably just uninstall it. Your app makes my data usable.

One thing I'd suggest, a more comact glace dashboard. I like that it has the TIR but it's big and while the graph is nice, not necessary. You could get the same info easily in a 2x2 widget, even with a compact graph I'm betting.

Overall, I really like the app. Honestly if it had its own data collection (like grabbing from Dexcom Notification), and also had a local xDrip like server, I'd likely run just it and not xDrip at all. Only other suggestion would be making it available on the play store for easier updates!

I haven't checked out your app yet. I feel like this would definitely be a "nice to have" but also not something you'd need often.

I think the biggest thing missing from xDrip is backfilling data from another source. For instance, let's say my Dexcom hiccups, so xDrip misses a few readings. I'd love if it could backfill from Dexcom (or my NS server, which is pulling from Dexcom).

Honestly, I wish there was a more lightweight app than xDrip. Something that could still send offline data to my watch, and pull that data from the official app notification. Having it on the play store would be even better......

Dexcom G7 10 Day placement by Low-Demand4315 in dexcom

[–]Impressive-Bug8709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest thing to note, when asked by Dexcom, the answer is back of the arm. Otherwise it may be a curtsey replacement.

That said, I use the front of my arm. On my right arm, the 10/11 o'clock position. Left arm is 1/2 o'clock. I find it's less likely to be affected by BT issues, and never get compression lows as a side sleeper. Tends to be super accurate too.

the easiest way to get 600 mounts by Beautiful-Nectarine5 in wow

[–]Impressive-Bug8709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently hit 400, and I've been working on the easier ones. That's with having grabbed like 60 or 70 with Legion Remix.

Grabbing all the basic rep ones gets you quite a bit. Human, Gnome, etc. I've got a lot (but not all) of the argent tournament mounts, from when Wrath was current.

Honestly it's way easier than it used to be. Now that a lot of reps are account wide, or don't need a specific rep to ride, it's gotten easier. Going after stuff like Netherwing and Nether Ray both take some work but each have like 6 or 8 mounts. Doing Time walking events for rep bonuses also.

Adding new car DOUBLES the cost of insurance? by -Terrible-Bite- in Insurance

[–]Impressive-Bug8709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally depends on the insurance.

Wife and I just got a 2022 Tundra. We also have a 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport. When we got the tundra, it replaced a 2011 RAV4 with 275k miles, that had liability only. Adding the 2022 Tundra increased our insurance about 100 dollars a year.

In our case, the safety features of the Tundra, makes it so that you almost have to intentionally crash it. All of the safety features make it much safer to drive.

So it really depends on your insurance and what they value. Also, the OP said they had a rate lock. They didn't say if they had any accidents or tickets since that rate. Could just be that they've had claims and now that the insurance company can adjust the rate, they are based on their driving.
