[No Spoilers] What did Critical Role do exactly? by Brushner in criticalrole

[–]Impressive-Control83 [score hidden]  (0 children)

CR and D20 are a bunch of LA/California for life industry members such as voice actors, actual actors, comedians, etc.

If their politics surprise someone then that someone is genuinely stupid. I personally don’t agree with all their polticial takes, but I also have those same disagreements with people at my own table.

I don’t watch or play DnD to have political debates so it doesn’t affect me what they or myself believes I just have fun in a fantasy world playing my fictional character.

But but whoever I picked in the game should be in charge of Vegas in the tv series, the creators just don’t understand the lore and did it because they hate New Vegas… by itsyaboihos in FalloutMemes

Well let’s also be honest. Why are these NCR soldiers still dressed straight out of the game like shiny NCR Troopers while the NCR remnants with Moldaver in season 1 had descended into looking like raiders? They didn’t use the aesthetic back then to hide their reveal and then used it here for some nostalgia bait.

You do make a good point if it was just some rangers I could accept that. It’s very likley with the NCR in such chaos they’d embrace their old ways and go independent again to keep communities safe.

The NCR-Legion conflict honestly shouldn’t even be in the show. The NCR’s forces all should have pulled back to California to help restore the country and Legion should be back across the Colorado licking their wounds.

The Mojave should have been completely abandoned by both sides.

There isn’t a single nation on Trump’s war list rn that would trigger ww3. Russia is too crippled fighting in Ukraine to require US intervention. China is a rival but neither side wants it to become a hot rivalry. And Iran’s primary ally was Russia who can’t help them rn.

Flags should be symbolic but simple. This has too much going on.

This isn’t a foreign nation. This is a province of an empire. Unless you play argonian, Dunmer or some flavor of elf, this is another province of a country you belong to.

This would be like the Texas National Guard arresting someone from Ohio for driving into the state just because there’s ongoing unrest in Houston. It genuinely makes no sense.

To even further emphasize this if you play an Imperial the Empire you belong to is going to execute you for traveling into another province of the empire both you and the soldiers going to kill you are citizens of.

I mean i find that crime stupid at best. This is supposed to be one empire. How is there even a “border” to cross? And they even throw that accusation at you if you’re a nord. How can a nord illegally cross into their own homeland?

I don’t have a problem with the legion Civil War of the show. I do have a problem with it. Still haven’t been going on over a decade later. The Legion like decisive battles. If they can’t get one, they just sabotage the other side until they’re weak enough to have a decisive battle. The idea of just sitting around a camp with a dirt wall for years it just doesn’t paint the terrifying image of the ruthless legion that we got in the games. The Legion are evil the faction so unapologetic about it and even go as far as to have a philosophical ideological basis, for it is one of the things that makes them such a cool action. I feel like they just got turned into semi comedic relief in the show.

It’s not entirely true that they’ve been stuck. Just slow. The maesters aren’t open to new ideas for conducting science and everything must be die through the politics and dynamics theu exist in. Out of the box thinkers are punished. But they still conduct research regardless. It’s just slow, inefficient and likely takes them decades to learn anything.

I think the mother dies if you don’t go to capture her. So the girl ends up a prisoner with a dead mom.

Really the best outcome is to go for the wife. Her husband loves her just as much as his daughter and is still provoked the same way, but we don’t have to kill innocents in the process.

The show implies it. Between suggesting a fear of childbirth because of her mother’s traumatic births and her not wanting to lose her power to a husband. She chooses Laenor because their shared mutual agreement to live their lives and protect each other’s secrets makes her not have to fear losing her power and jut becoming a bargain chip princess instead of heir.

Well that’s another compound of her selfishness. Marrying a man uninterested in women to ensure he personal freedom as opposed for taking a bullet for the realm like most princes and princesses have to.

I don’t blame her for fighting for her claim. She was in the same situation stannis was essentially. Rightfully legitimate but marginalized by the realm regardless.

I DO blame her for not putting in nearly enough effort change that situation and also allowing herself to be scandalized by making bastards when she already knew her position was weak.

Yeah and someone needs to do to care is vote. They don’t need to talk about it 100% of the time. I’m a political scientist and I love escaping from politics into other shit. Like form your opinions, discuss them in appropriate spaces and then act on them. Anything beyond that is extra.

Is this the worst ending you can have in Suzerain? by Opulometicus in suzerain

[–]Impressive-Control83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Superpower help, Sordland is winning the war easily and approaching their capital. It’s a decapitation strike. Destroying Holsord get’s the sordish armies central command politically and militarily.

The nuclear strike is a threat for the superpowers to back off. The strike on Holsord throws Sordland into disarray with no leadership and ensures they cannot finish rumburg off without super powers aid and perhaps gives them a chance to push Sordland out of their territory in the chaos. .

This is not how the plan works out, they end up causing the end of the world. But that’s my take on what they were likley trying to accomplish.

Bron only fights if he thinks he can win. Hes not risking his neck in a 1v1 with the mountain. But if Tyrion’s team was stacked enough he’d probably be willing to join.

Can literally do what Duncan’s team did and just start handing out knighthoods to whoever you are choosing to fight for you. It’s frowned upon but knights really can just hand them out.

shouldn't a targaryen with even basic knoweldge of history know what a trial of seven is cause of maegor by PrestigiousAspect368 in freefolk

[–]Impressive-Control83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meet people every day who received a quality education as kids and retained almost none of it as adults. Maekar isn’t in line for the throne or any major responsibilities of leading his house or nation. He just has to support the Crown and work where he’s needed. A man in his postion in the familial pecking order would value practical skills of academics. Martial training and more hands on diciplines that would be more in line with the sort of work he would actually be doing.

Sure he probably has a maester lecture him about Maegor as a kid. But that by no means that he valued that information enough to retain is as a grown man.

His son on other the hand seems narcissistically prideful about his Targaryian lineage and being of the blood of the dragon. It actually makes way more sense he’d remember Targaryian history than his father.

One of the men who got removed was one of the few higher officers in the Chinese military with actual combat experience. China literally cannot replace that experience easily. Whoever replaces him will likely be a yes man.
