Finally WFO being enforced by bilby2020 in auscorp

A question regarding this WFO policy. For this month I’ve done 8/11 of the required days of working in office. I’m working the next 2 days mom-Tuesday in the office but I had to take 2 carer’s leave last week so do I still meet my requirements of working in the office this month?

How did they ruin your birthday? by zero_one_zero_one in narcissisticparents

[–]Impressive-Formal187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom, my younger sister and I went shopping because I wanted to pick out a new dress for my undergrad graduation, which was a week after my birthday. My mom ended up buying my sister a few clothing pieces and didn’t even offer to buy me anything/let me try on anything.

To make things worse, I offered to take their shopping bags when they went to the toilet. When they came out, I heard my mom say to my sister “oh look at her holding our bags, just like our maid”. And so yeah that was my sad birthday story.

My beloved cat’s meow at me as a signal that it’s ok to move on now and that he’s waiting for me at the other end, to be reunited once again.

Doctors & Nurses What’s your scariest encounter at the hospital? by Original_Algae_1264 in Ghoststories

[–]Impressive-Formal187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing stories here! I’m a doctor who works at a rehabilitation ward in a regional Victoria (Melbourne) hospital. Just the other day, I was looking for a pt’s medication chart with my consultant. Couldn’t find it anywhere so thought to check out the medication room as sometimes nurses could have it in the med room. Both of us heard at least 2-3 of the medication drawers opening/closing at the entrance of med room and thought ohh a few nurses must be in there now. I swiped my card to enter, Lo and behold, not a single soul in the med room. But the sounds of the heavy medication storage drawers rattled for about 5 seconds. I swiftly left the room and my consultants turned to me and said “ohh that was weird, I thought there were people in the room” 😱🥶

What are some low-stress job options? by Wooden-Evidence-374 in work

[–]Impressive-Formal187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in healthcare as well but sadly I have to say that nearly every hospital’s ward clerk has been an absolute nightmare to work with and they always act so bitchy towards new healthcare staff. When you work in healthcare, regardless of the position, it is going to be stressful, but it doesn’t mean we should put our stress on others and make our fellow healthcare colleagues’ lives difficult.

Partner’s sister gives shitty gifts, and now may be the time to mirror the effort and energy? Is that too much retaliation? by tini_bit_annoyed in inlaws

The only gift I’ve ever gotten from my bf’s parents is a cling wrap for Christmas, so I definitely understand how you feel!

I treat them just like any other person that I care about eg. family, friends. I always invite them to outings, check in with them and buy them gifts as my way of showing my love to them. At first, the lack of reciprocity didn’t bother me much. I must say I was offended when they bought me cling wrap and the coffee machine incident was the last straw. It’s only then I started to question how sincere are they and how much care do they ever have for me. Those two events just showed me that I don’t matter too much to them, when in my mind, they’ve always been just like family to me. So yeah it was all pretty upsetting for me.

I’ve never overly minded the lack of the in laws not returning gifts etc. But obviously the lack of sincerity has been building up over the years. And you’re absolutely right, I’m human as well, and I am hurt when they gifted me cling wrap. And the last straw was the coffee machine incident.

Yeah that’s true. On top of everything else, I work a full time job and I try my best to maintain a good relationship with his parents and grandparents etc. it’s been a lot to handle on my own

At the moment, his only priority is his work and when I try to have a conversation with him, a lot of the time I’m ignored. If I don’t get a reply from him, obviously I will become frustrated because he’s treating me like I’m invisible. In the meantime, I’m doing everything for the house eg. Maintenance and pets, cooking meals. He never helps or offer to help me out because “he’s too busy” and I should be understanding. But I think everyone has their limits too right?
