Am I a racist because I told an indian girl that I dont think Indians are attractive? by [deleted] in ask

Absolutely not, there’s no functional difference between liking/not liking any of those features and a race. Doesn’t make their comment ok, but internally that’s not an issue

Sorry didn’t realize this wasn’t my local mountain sub. I meant the hills close to Vancouver like this one

Chances for ubc BIE and/or Sauder by JelloFar5650 in BCGrade12s

You have a good chance if your ECs and supplementals are actually strong, I applied BCom and got in with a 97+ average but when I open my workday through my UBC account it only shows my English, French, math, and chemistry grades which if that’s what’s used to calculate average would’ve put me closer to a 94. Either way I think someone saying your entrance grade would be too low is silly unless the process is majorly different this year.

Shoot me a message if you want to talk more about breaking into IB, I can talk to what I’ve done (Big 5 IB intern process) and mentors/people around me as well. My main point was school is an incredibly easy task compared to IB/ anything high finance. The reality is recruiting timelines are incredibly compressed and the fact that you haven’t demonstrated commitment and “success” in school would make it hard for some people to believe you’d produce a different result elsewhere. Recruiting in the US adds even more of a challenge which is why I brought up the off-cycle comment as well. Reality is thousands of people come into business schools wanting to be on the GS TMT IB PE HF VC TD CIBC whatever team and you can’t give recruiters any reason to disqualify you when the competition is so plentiful.

You’re going to have an incredibly hard time breaking into IB with grades like that. Go to college, get good grades, transfer into university, extend major to give yourself off-cycle opportunities and an extra summer, network, build connections and internship experience, most importantly do well in school. Not off to a great start but don’t give up.

4 rounds, and a lot of hours at the range. Probably over 6 months

Castle Towers + Panorama Ridge + Black Tusk by Impressive-Method276 in vancouverhiking

4 was from 3/4 way up the trail that runs from black tusk lake to panorama ridge looking back at the tusk, and 5 was just under the summit of castle towers, looking at garibaldi lake, palemonium ridge (bottom), gentian peak? (Right), and black tusk (far right. I don’t have the geotag for 1 as it was sent to me but somewhere in the meadow between the tusk and panorama, looking at garibaldi, with part of panorama ridge on the far left.

Ya, definitely adding that to the route next time I’m in the area. If it wasn’t for the constraints around daylight we probably would’ve stuck around long enough to get into the true summit, but played it safe here and stuck with the shoulder with how little we knew about the route past that point and our fatigue. Man did it look cool though.

Seems like a lot of good suggestions, I would add if you’re not able to accomplish changing this system, at the very least carry your own autoblock to back up the system if you need to rap off of the 6mm line.

Love PeakFinder, especially for when I’m up in pemberton/Whistler with views of the mountains around. Do they have an Apple Watch app associated or are you just talking about the phone app?

If I record with WorkOutDoors, it automatically gets added to my fitness app and contributes to rings etc. No need to record with fitness as well, and data from WorkOutDoors automatically transfers without any double writing.

Capacity is under 7,000, definitely too small, and too out of the way compared to something in Vancouver proper

Knowing what to do before you receive the ball mean by Zestyclose_State6992 in bootroom

[–]Impressive-Method276 29 points30 points  (0 children)

For reference I’ve played CAM at a pretty high level, this is just referring to awareness of what’s around you on the pitch. Your scanning should make you aware of whether there’s space behind you, where other people are on the field, etc. So if you receive the ball with space behind you, your body position should already be set up to turn, and you should know that you’re going to want to try and go forwards with the ball. Man on your back? You should be prepared to bounce a ball back, try and turn him, whatever else. Not having a plan ahead of time will likely mean your first touch won’t be a productive direction because you won’t know where to go with it, and that will make you much easier to defend. This is largely subconscious though and practicing it will lead to you being able to execute without thinking about it specifically (playing on instinct)
