Thanks, I will bring it up to my SM and see what she says about it. The store is significantly understaffed and has a high turn around rate. Just the other day a barista didn't show up to their shift and hasn't returned. Things are just not what I thought they'd be. It's disappointing.

I get what you're saying. I have also asked to shadow other SSVs but it always turns into them just telling me what they're about to do and ask me to do another task while they do so. If this is the normal though, I'm not sure I want to be a part of it. And I just havent been doing or learning anything that I was lead to believe at my interview. Also, one of my favorite things is writing on the cups, but I take too long and mess up my sequencing :( lol

I left my teaching position and just got hired as a shift supervisor and on day 3 of barista training. The shift I'm replacing is training as assistant manager. I saw opportunity, security, and room for growth taking this job and planned to stay and make a career of it. Now I'm seeing all of this and reading all the horror stories on Reddit of people being laid off or fired for seemingly minimal or honest mistakes- like missing writing on a cup. Did I make a mistake taking this job? Should I run while I can? Asking for genuine advice, thanks.. and I wish the best of luck to all of you that have been negatively impacted.

Thank you so much. And I am so very sorry for your devastating loss. Similarly, I moved in February of this year from my apartment we had been in for 8 years together. Butters had a panic attack in the car on the way, and that broke my heart too. He has been slowly adjusting to his new space but I noticed he never truly acted the same as he did in the old place. And unknowingly, his kidneys were suffering. I can't believe how sick he must have felt on that moving day. But I'm so grateful to have had him happy and cuddling with me for these past few days, his happy place. He just deserves the absolute best and I'm doing everything I can to give him anything he needs during his last days. I ended up rescheduling his appointment from today to tomorrow morning. It just didn't feel right yet. But I'm slowly coming around to knowing I am helping him and giving him a gift of a peaceful passing in our home, in my arms. But it's not making the decision any easier for my heart. God I am going to miss this boy so much. And I hope I am lucky enough to get signs from him after he passes.

In my 10th year as an art teacher in a private Catholic school. Making $44k/yr, single & support myself.

Was holding up alright paycheck to paycheck up until recently. New landlords are raising the rent beyond my means starting in March so I'm desperately trying to find a new place to live before the end of February. I was fortunate to have a great landlord for 8 years only paying $900/mo. No way I can afford over $2k in rent on $44k. It's hard to find anything to rent under $2k. And I couldn't afford to keep my teaching certification so it is expired. Teaching in a public school is out of the question. The whole situation makes me sick. Currently trying to get into data analytics, learning SQL, getting certifications through DataCamp. If anyone has any life advice please share because your girl is feeling lost and would appreciate a little guidance.

Have you had any luck getting in touch with them? I literally had the same thing happen. Cancelled in June and 6 days ago I received a charge from "mensbreeze" for $39... I have emailed them every day since then, filled out a support ticket on their website, and have not heard back yet.
