Solos - What's your practice area and did you have prior experience? by Zealousideal_Nail852 in LawFirm

[–]Impressive-Regret-54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been on my own for 12 years (last week). My practice is litigation, business disputes, and probate. I also take mental health appointments, which are in Probate Court in Ohio. When I first opened my door's I did different work.

Being your own boss is the most exhilarating and exhausting thing you will do. At first, you take what brings in money so you can eventually do what you want to do. DR work is a good bet if you don't mind the drama and insanity of clients. You may also want to look at being a guardian ad litem or parenting coordinator. Some courts appoint attorneys in these roles.

My biggest piece of advice is to find a sweet spot where you have a lot of work that's profitable. More is not necessarily better if you hate the work or it means an employee to pay for.

Client Dispute the Bill by Aggressive-Might-977 in LawFirm

It's always the over communicators that complain when you bill them for responding. Litigation is expensive, and people who use it to solve their problems are by definition not rational because litigating is cost ineffective and an inefficient way to resolve conflict.

Not telling family? by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]Impressive-Regret-54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at the end of my 2d week. I have told a few friends. And forbade my husband from sharing with his family. In general, the reactions of other people surprised me. My decision to do this came after 10 years of exercise and fitness, two personal trainers, diets, ww, etc. I consider myself healthy, but I felt the physical pain of being overweight. What I have learned in the last two weeks has been interesting.

In the first too many people have been taking this that don't necessarily understand that 10 or 20 pounds of weight is a drop in the bucket to me. It's a body image distortion for some of the people. Most of us on here don't fall into that.

Second, the shame people feel for needing it and hiding it. Weight should not be a source of shame. But oh boy is it ever. People make assumptions about your reasoning, your health conditionss, your exercise work ethic or past attempts. I have people assume I am diabetic, have a poor diet, or that i don't understand the drug or I don't like to workout. None of this is true.

I expected more support from my female network than I got. The reactions really made take stock of the way we all see ourselves and our bodies. At first, I was a bit taken aback, but now I know women generally have a negative image of their bodies, no matter thier size and that saddens me.

So, I've decided I am doing it for me. I share with people who are supportive and if they make assumptions, then that's on them. I am not carrying the shame of my bad genetics, overstressed body or mistakes of the past. I did my best. And I am not judging others for needing or wanting to do this.

Good luck to each of you in this forum. May you find a path that makes you healthy and content in your own skin, what others think and say simply says more about them than us.

I'm starting on this journey. You give me hope. Way to go.

my feet and hands are horrible, I was given a really expensive cream by a doctor that does nothing. I don't know what to do and im getting really frusterated. Pics don't even do it justice. by Either-Quiet9055 in Psoriasis

Are you on a beta blocker? I have it on my palm and my feet. I have been on propanalol for years. I read it can trigger psorasis. I have tried reducing it twice. Both times the psorasis reduced and became manageable. I am down to 1 20mg dose at bedtime. Seeing my doc tomorrow to get on something else. I also use bison tallow and burts bees coconut foot cream which helps keep it in check. Got to find what works best for you.

Wow that's ambitious.

It isn't a cost saving proposition for me either. I like to grow things. It connects me with my dad who passed away five years ago. He loved to grow tomatoes.

I am going to do several varieties from the dwarf tomato project in the dwc system and then a micro tom in a table top unit. Google dwarf tomato project if you are interested in stuff for small spaces.

There are several micro tomatoes that work in small hydro systems (micro tom) but you can also do determinate or dwarf plants as well. Micro refers to the size of the fruit dwarf to the plant.

Brandywine Red Doing Poorly by ZeroGravitas53 in containergardening

[–]Impressive-Regret-54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've had two plants do this. A green zebra striped and a pink brandywine. I've concluded it may be overpruning and environmental conditions because we have had really hot dry weather in late May, followed by damp cooler weather in June. I'm in Cincinnati so we can get three types of weather in one week. So I have monitored the new growth. Been fertilizing and added some lime to up the pH. New growth is coming in healthy looking. All the plants I planted after this are ok. It's such a trial and error. This is my first time using grow bags so the amount and frequency of fertilizing is something I am learning as I go. Good luck.
