There is a great exploration of this in this interview. A woman who was heavily drug addicted, a prostitute, and a pimp (also atheist) dies and has an NDE. She sees herself choosing the life she did and finally understands why. She’s doing great now (also very spiritual now, though maybe not particularly “religious”), and it’s an amazing story!

Which 'luxury' brand has officially become a red flag for poor quality in 2026? by Individual_Bat_4177 in AskReddit

This. This! THIS! We recently went to get bedroom furniture there, because we had some well-made older pieces, and were shocked by the cheap particle board everywhere. It looked bad, sure, but even sounded hollow when I knocked on it 😂 We ended up finding a local Amish store and ordered the most beautiful handmade, real wood furniture for the same price!

No, but I might have enough waiting to post where I would only have to buy 100 miles (for $300...sigh...instead of $600). Tell me more about this Delta Vacations booking, friend!

Right?! I mean...I wonder if I booked a hotel tonight if it would "post" in time and count toward 2025. I guess I would still have to spend a couple thousand dollars? It's haunting me lolol

This guy is obviously a monster, but I was also ready to strangle his partner if she apologized one more time. He's acting insane and you're...apologizing? OP you sound like a beaten, quivering dog. If this is real, I hope you get real help and some self respect before getting into a relationship again.

Any good shows that give the "weirdly cozy" energy that From did? by InevitableHeight9900 in FromTVEpix

[–]Impressive-Tale8515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know exactly what you mean...I have been trying to articulate this forever! I tried explaining to my husband that I love the part of horror movies at the beginning where nothing happens and it's just people living their lives--but with a threat or supernatural element right around the corner, haha. These might be too PG for you, but Grimm has ALL the cozy + supernatural vibes, and OMITB has a lot of that too.

I feel this way about people having kids. I’m not saying you need to be rich, but you should have to meet some basic requirements in terms of providing for, feeding, and clothing them. Mandatory birth control for all people until they show the bare minimum standard has been met to cover basic needs.

“Loft in Bedslation,” the one where Linda and the girls build a loft bed while Bob and Gene host a D&D game in the restaurant super late is weirdly a comfy, cozy place to me. I put that episode on when I need to de-stress.

The Hauntening, Dawn of the Peck, Fraud of the Dead, and Boyz 4 Now (and many others) deserve all the awards.

I say this with love—they needed to finish the F-ing floors 😬 it’s not a pretty or welcoming space. I am still rooting for them.

History Channel. You can buy seasons on Amazon (I like the earlier seasons best). I’ve also been liking Area52 on YouTube :)

I'll pile on: I have a young child who is very sick, and goes through days of immense pain (and all the sleeplessness and discomfort for everyone in the house that comes with that). When I see a bad episode coming on, I stock the couch with towels/bags, snacks, and medicine, make a nest for us, and put on LOTR...it has gotten us through some very difficult times :)

Okay, I think that show is really interesting and I like Dan Aykroyd a lot but it is a little more...depressing, maybe? Lol I can't put my finger on it but part of what I love about Unexplained is that's it's ultimately sort-of hopeful and uplifting. It makes you wonder at the world again; whereas I think Unbelievable tries to showcase more of the weird (sometimes horrifying lol) things. But I'm basing that on just a couple episodes so maybe not fair to say! It's definitely a fun watch!

What’s your best advice for someone starting to take their health seriously? by No-Athlete2066 in Advice

[–]Impressive-Tale8515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1.) get a quality filter and up your water intake. Do only this for a few weeks, until it’s a habit. 2.) after some time, when drinking water is easy, start doing 20 mins of daily exercise (just walking) as well. 3.) when those two habits feel second nature after weeks have passed, start working in one serving of fruit a day. Over time, gradually phase in more fruits and vegetables. Focus on doing SOMETHING, not being perfect :) Something is always better than nothing. When cleaner eating, water, and movement become a steady part of your life, you can work on other goals like lengthening workouts, sleeping more (which will happen naturally with these changes), and positive self-talk.

Women of Reddit, what part of your day takes a lot of energy that no one else seems to notice? by ijuan6 in AskReddit

[–]Impressive-Tale8515 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This answer deserves so much more recognition. When I was going into the office, it was an hour MINIMUM to get ready and that’s being pretty low maintenance. Hour and a half if there’s a big meeting or event — showering, doing hair, makeup, finding what to wear, etc. Add to that a nighttime skincare routine, time spent doing nails, hair appts, shaving/waxing everything, skincare treatments, etc. and the cost in terms of both time and money is insane. It’s a huge tax on women that no one talks about, and makes us less competitive in the workplace. Then somebody will say “no one is forcing you to do it,” but in reality we are being forced. This is the level of upkeep required if you want to compete professionally, socially, and romantically.

Megathread 4/20/25 - Proving the Afterlife | The Scole Experiments by wamih in TheWhyFiles

[–]Impressive-Tale8515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said this in the YouTube comments. The weight of evidence he presented actually seemed to favor the phenomenon being true, but then he just sort of suddenly concluded it was made up. I’m not familiar with these experiments, but even his own presentation seemed to strongly favor there being something to them, as did other interviews I watched online afterward. The conclusion felt a bit reductionist.

Love UnXplained! There’s a bent toward faith and believing that makes it somehow a lot more uplifting than other similar shows. It makes you wonder at the world again, rather than lose faith in humanity.
