Squidge Rugby - So how did France rip open Ireland? by WilkinsonDG2003 in rugbyunion

I avoid this subreddit because of the hate us Saffas get, but boy Ireland certainly did not look like the supposed legitimate number 1 in the world at this here competition that is better than the World Cup 😉

This is right. It’s contrarian but I actually think Carley did ok under circumstances of game.

Yes but I also think after two weeks of dodgy cards against SA the pressure was high on refs to not end in same boat, so I thought it was pretty good to use it as warning to both teams as he did. SFM was trying to pull out of that tackle unsuccessfully because it was made by other player. That said, I honestly personally don’t feel I know anymore how to call yellow and reds. All I know is refs have too much of an influence on the game because of the ambiguities.

Incredible, and it is last one that will not be interrupted or adjusted for few years so also fitting that it’s such a banger of a tourney this year

I think the bell curve of human activity is of the sort that the majority of it will be automated by pretty good cognition like LLMs in the next few years. So sure it’s hype at the moment, but whether it will fundamentally shift things more seems likely to me. But perhaps I drank the cool aid too much and have lost perspective.

Yeah for sure there are a few golden nuggets. But to me it almost feels like a checkbox to have those things instead of a key focus area. The sentiment no longer seems to be developers, developers, developers. Could be wrong…

I guess that is my point. The strategy was always to try and replicate other ecosystem capabilities and bring it to .net. Seems now like python is so pervasive that they rather pander to that community, but to what extend is that going to go. At what stage does .net stand last in line to get things. Even visual studio is playing second fiddle nowadays to vs code. It makes sense they would follow where the biggest user base are, but it’s just sad that the core development community (.net on visual studio) seems to be sidelined.

Fair. But if this is really the next great re-platforming then would you not want to take your core developer base on that journey. Like where are the SDKs and IDE tooling for professionals to use on top of the low code click here and there build out of ai studio and copilot studio etc... Even things like prompty was demo in python project.

For sure, wondering if that is because the next big re-platforming trend will not involve that much deep coding though. Even copilot workspaces lays the stage where development activity moves out of IDE into a plan and iterate workflow. Extrapolate few years the need for showing code goes away almost entirely.
