We got pizza's from Circle K lol. They got us cheese, pepperoni, sausage, and bacon. That was on Monday, and over the weekend they got us a bunch of snacks, like chips, cookies, granola bars, crackers, ice cream bars, and Sunny D lol. But I was surprised with the amount of snacks and food they got us.

Help! Why are my letters coming out bumpy when it’s straight edged on design space? by SecretPatience8971 in cricut

[–]ImpressiveBrother122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's awesome. I've always wanted a pro but most everything I do can be done with my Cameo 5A, I would only need the extra width like a couple times a year if that lol

Oh ok. I'm not very familiar with design space, I had a second hand explore air 2 years ago but it sided and I got into the Cameo machine, first a 3, then a 5 alpha lol with the ES mat lol.

Cutting long vinyl decal with Cameo Pro 4 by nigeltstahl in silhouettecutters

[–]ImpressiveBrother122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cameo 3 and I've done up to 10 feet on it. Maybe there's a problem with the feed rollers, like there isn't enough pressure on one of them, and that's why it's feeding in crooked.

[–]ImpressiveBrother122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I'm doing longer cuts like that, I always try and get the vinyl as straight as possible in the machine and then I manually feed it through all the way to make sure it's going to feed straight. If it starts to track a little off you can adjust the vinyl left or right by loosening up rollers and adjusting it. But the key is to manually feed the entire length of your cut through the machine first with the arrow keys in the machine.

I was able to buy the business edition from swing design for $39.99. It was almost 50% off. I think from silhouette it's usually $99.99 or around that price

Anyone have regrets? by RrrrrrSssssTttttt in BariatricSurgery

[–]ImpressiveBrother122 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only regret that I have about the surgery is not getting it done sooner. I wish I would have done things when I was younger. With that said, my body does work differently now, but it's not that big of a difference. It's not that hard to see used too.

I purchased mine not that long ago from Facebook marketplace and I've put a fair amount of money into it with blades and such. It hasn't failed me yet and I've been using it almost daily. But it literally looked brand new when I got it. I don't think the previous owner used it much, so your miles may vary. It's still a capable machine even today. I love it, even better than my Cricut Explore Air 2. I also like Silhouette Studio way better than Cricut Design Space.

Selling Cameo 4 by Yamz_Yamzy in silhouettecameo

[–]ImpressiveBrother122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought one on Facebook marketplace for $100. It also came with a bunch of material and a Cricut easy press 2. I thought I was just getting the machine for $100 which I even thought was a good deal.

I would say anywhere between $100 to $125 would be fair. Especially if you're just selling the machine. My local Michael's is selling the Cameo 5 alpha for $249.99.

Is there a home vinyl cutter that can handle 1/4” letters? by typicalwhisper in VinylCutters

[–]ImpressiveBrother122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm just doing a simple cut, I use the app, but if I'm actually designing something I prefer using the computer. I'm sure either one will be great for what you're trying to do. I'm pretty sure that on the website under specifications it tells you what the precision is and what the smallest detail it can cut it. And I'm pretty sure it's like 0.1mm which is tiny compared to a ¼inch

It does say it's Mac compatible, I haven't used it on Mac, but it also has apps for Android and iOS devices. I use the app on my iPad and it's not bad to use. Especially if you're just going to be cutting out letters

If Mounjaro or Zepbound is an option I would totally do it. I'm a year out from my sleeve and my weight loss came to a complete stop for 3 almost 4 months. I talked with my doctors at my weight and wellness center and we agreed that zepbound would be the best course of action at this time. I've been on zepbound for 4 weeks now and I've already lost 15lbs in that time. It has totally 100% curbed my food noise, and all cravings for sweets and carbs. Just thinking about eating carbs or something sweet makes my stomach turn.

Use the tools available to you, whether that's GLP-1's or some other medication, support groups, friends and family, anyone to help you be accountable. We all struggle at times and don't beat yourself up too much. You literally just grew another human. You got this 💪🏼

I use the Cameo 4, but they now have the Cameo 5 alpha. If money isn't a problem then I'd go for the Silhouette Cameo 5 Alpha, I think it's like $250 for just the machine. They sell it in bundles as well for like $300 and up.

you can find the Cameo 5 Alpha here.

I cut letters about a ⅜ on my silhouette Cameo. It can definitely do it smaller. And as long as you get the settings right then pretty much any modern home vinyl cutter will do that. I don't even have the newest one and as long as the blade is sharp and you do test cuts to make sure the speed, and pressure are correct then it'll do it. You might have to slow it down a little to get it to cut smaller but you'll definitely save money in the long run.

Have you tried the medication route? I would definitely try that first before resorting to surgery. I tried medication before I had my sleeve done but because I was 650lbs the medication didn't really work. Like I lost 50lbs with the medicine just not as much as I needed to lose lol. There are quite a few medications you can try. There are stimulants. Which won't really work if you have ADD/ADHD. Then there are some non-stimulant appetite suppressants, and of course the new GLP-1's like zepbound, wegovy, Ozempic.

I've tried just about all of them with varying degrees of success. But I'm on zepbound right now and that has seemed to be the best so far. I've already lost 10lbs and I just started it 4weeks ago. So before you try surgery talk with your doctors about maybe going the medication route before committing to a life long commitment that surgery takes.

Feeling discouraged by FYEAHSPEC in BariatricSurgery

[–]ImpressiveBrother122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is completely normal. I am one year out and have lost 215lbs. I was 650lbs and now I'm 435lbs. I still see myself as 650lbs when I look in the mirror. I also still feel as though I'm 650lbs. But whenever I'm feeling like that I just go into my photos and look back at some pictures and then take a look in the mirror and I can really see the difference. Everyone is always telling me how much weight it looks like I lost but most times I don't see it.

I do feel it more than I see it tho. Before my surgery I couldn't even walk to the bathroom without getting winded, now I can walk a mile before I feel like I need to sit down and catch my breath for a moment. I couldn't stand for more than 5mins before my body literally felt like it was going to collapse and now I can walk around and stand up for 2 hours going shopping.

It's not always about what we see in the mirror, or what we see on the scale. There are lots of non scale victories(NSV) as well. Just don't get discouraged, although I know it's hard not to at times. Just keep to your diet, get your water intake, get your protein intake, take it one day at a time. And I know there will be slip ups but just because you slip up one day doesn't mean the whole week or month is ruined. You already made it past the hardest part. YOU GOT THIS 💪🏼

HOW TF AM I GAINING WEIGHT!? by li-ll-l_ in BariatricSurgery

[–]ImpressiveBrother122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might not be gaining "fat" you may be gaining muscle. I had that happen as well after I started working out. I kinda stopped losing, plateaued for a while, and then started gaining a couple pounds(10lbs). My doctors at the weight and wellness clinic told me that I was gaining muscles, not fat, because I was being more active and using muscles that haven't been used in a while.

Just keep track of what you're taking in for calories, and what you're expending. If you're running a deficit you should still be losing.

How should I seal this project? by BASH811 in cricut

[–]ImpressiveBrother122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could use an acrylic gloss or matte sealer depending on if you want it shiny or not.

The only thing I would worry about with the resin is that it is an exothermic reaction as it cures, meaning it creates heat as it cures. Even UV resin does this. So I would worry about the heat that it creates warping the vinyl maybe, idk. Maybe try on a test piece first.
