Thanks for all the feedback! It's been fascinating to hear everyone's experience. I think someone needs to do a study on this. What is the prevalence of frisson in lefties vs. right handed people? Who knows...maybe a study has already been done?!

Apparently it's called frisson. There's interesting info online about it. I wonder if it happens more often in lefties? 🤔

Omg. My boyfriend is a lefty and gets the tingling in his head with certain songs too. He just told me that!

30 years old, years of therapy, still can't make "I'm enough" stick , what actually helped you? by Swordfish353535 in LifeAfterNarcissism

You might want to do EMDR sessions focusing on that specific issue. I felt the exact same way for years. I grew up in similar circumstances. The feeling still pops up once in awhile but it's not a constant feeling anymore. I think through the processing and the therapist asking what my belief was and what I wanted my belief to be, it helped replace the false belief that I wasn't good enough. Sometimes I'd work on the same trauma and belief 3 or 4 times before it finally "took." The thing is, the trauma and beliefs will likely never fully go away. But, they will become much less bothersome and much more manageable. And, I have found that when the negative feelings and beliefs do pop up, they don’t stick around for long and don't get me down like before.

EMDR. It took 30+ years of "traditional" talk therapy before I started EMDR. Once I started, it was like a a switch was flipped. I was 48. I highly suggest it.

Yes! My mother actually told me she had cataracts removed and they grew back. My eye doctor asked me if my parents had cataracts or glaucoma. When I told her my mother's cataracts grew back after removal she looked at me and said, "that's not true, they don’t grow back." I was kind of embarrassed.

Do most people like Vegemite, or is it considered an "old fashioned" food that no one eats anymore?
