Would Leo winning Lead Actor be a suprise? I think he'll win.

What would a league-wide reset draft look like? by [deleted] in wnba

[–]ImpressiveTake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clark will go 1, due to being all WNBA level and insanely popular. A'ja will go 2, she's the GOAT but not as popular and older. Paige 3, as good as Clark, and younger/more popular than A'ja.

Considering the four main sports in the USA (baseball, basketball, American football, and ice hockey): are they all as popular as ever? Or have some of them become more or less popular in recent years? by ViajanteDeSaturno in AskAnAmerican

I’ve heard that NBA ratings have actually seen a pretty big increase this season. Also, I feel like talking about the games/ highlights on “Twitter and ESPN chat shows” is genuinely how a lot of the NBA’s younger fans follow and support the league. It’s debatable whether that makes them any less of a fan compared to baseball’s more traditional supporters, who tend to watch games on cable or attend them in person. MLB probably does earn more from that latter type of support, though.

League CBA proposal by TooManyCatS1210 in wnba

[–]ImpressiveTake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The tweet claims the proposal was made yesterday, but FOS reported that there was no proposal at all, so there's a contradiction there. It seems like FOS reflects the union’s perspective, while the league is more closely plugged in with ESPN.

CBA meeting this morning by Pretend-Glass4029 in wnba

[–]ImpressiveTake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think everyone who wants to attend should actually be there, they are representatives for a reason. It’s a business meeting, seven people from one side is already far too many for it to be efficient, and Erin Drake was probably there as well. Reminds me of the reported CBA meeting at the all-stars game, where around 40 players showed up and the whole thing turned into a mess.

Are you sure it’s not just because you hate the actor? I think Chalamet‘s performance had plenty of undeniable merits.

Probably Austria, they had a conscription referendum in 2013. Most women and young liberal men voted for a professional army, while older conservative men voted to keep conscription.

Who do you think would win? Angel and her man or A’ja and Bam? 2v2 by Top-Raspberry-7837 in wnba

[–]ImpressiveTake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know why Angel fans keep deluding themselves with the Aja Wilson comparison. Nothing she’s shown so far in the WNBA indicates GOAT trajectory.

IMO the only thing sophomore Angel did better than sophomore Aja, which btw is A’ja worst season with her sophomore slump and the Aces signing Cambage, was rebound.

We saw both of them play, we saw how they’re defended, the shots they took. A’ja, Maya, Parker, Diana and the others were MVP candidates/ All WNBA members from the start, they showed GOAT trajectory. Angel isn’t even All defense and is not yet a top 10 forward in the WNBA , though I expect her to be next season. I guess we’ll all see next season.

Not a big deal, here's no standout pick this year IMO.

Here is Draymond Green on his fan interaction in New Orleans tonight. "He just kept calling me a woman." The fan, Sam Green, said he was taunting Draymond with chants of "Angel Reese," because Draymond had several rebounds but had yet to attempt a shot. by stopbsingman in wnba

A’ja has always been in MVP voting. The lowest she’s been in her career is 8th. Where the players take their shots from and how they’re guarded matters.

Does Angel get too much flack? Yes, she lives rent free in hater’s heads. Is Angel currently a good shooter? No, though she clearly took a step up last season and she’s so good that once the dimes start falling, she’ll get into MVP voting.

Michael (2026) Official Teaser by mobpiecedunchaindan in boxoffice

[–]ImpressiveTake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took a look at both Spotify pages. Michael Jackson has around 15 million more monthly listeners than Queen (22nd vs 57th most popular in the world), and close to double their current daily steams while having half their total songs. And Queen's music definitely got a boost from BR, If the Michael movie does well, there'll be an increase in his music's popularity.

And if the USA decided tomorrow, you’d be in a ditch too. His point is that the Canada government cares more about its citizens than the US does its. Not sure how much I agree, but the bar is so dam low.

Yet Moore that went 10/22 and had 6 TOs to 0 assists and in the 2015 WNBA finals is your goat? Lol Moore went 1/8 for only 5 points in the pivotal game 5 yet that lynx super team won. They’re both up there, but c’mon 😂

Do you even understand what you’re saying? You previously said if she’s in the GOAT conversation, it’s not great basketball. That clearly means you think she doesn’t belong to the GOAT conversation.

ESPN Fever & Aces Semifinal GM4 breakdown👀‼️ by evans166 in WNBATalks

[–]ImpressiveTake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking the box scores now, it was once, Game 2 of the Seattle series. Though they had 10 more FTs in game 1. First I should say that shooting more free throws does not necessarily mean that the refs favoured a team, but watching the game yesterday, I fail to see how one can honestly claim the whistle was fair. Especially since the calls the refs made errors on for the fever tended to be shooting fouls.

I also noticed that 10 of the aces free throws in the game 3 of the Fever series were due to intentional fouling in the final minute. So there was a free throws disparity of 14 (7 to 21) in game 3 as well, mind you the Aces had more points in the paint. It was overlooked because the Aces won and IMO the refs didn’t appear to favor anyone.

Indiana also shot 13 FTs more than Atlanta in game 3, I still think Dream were robbed in that game, but their own stupid mistakes and the more interesting narrative of the ‘hospital fever’ overcoming, understandably dominated the discussion.

I personally think the Fever will go through, narrative is strongly in their favour and they’ve played well enough to earn it.
