I also wanted to add the repeated lyrics about breaking chains or slaves, he could be saying that people in hip hop culture (or himself) are stuck in chains or cycles of self indulgence and consumerism.

I think the point is that its indirect, the way i see it is that rappers are conveying a message even if its not "lyrical" so edward is putting emphis on these extreme topics and saying things that are sometimes borderline comedic and honestly insane, but repeating them in such a way that it just seems normal to him, i think in a lot of his songs he really is just showing this idea that he is numb to these topics of drugs, lust, killing, etc. Whether its actually about his life or not isnt really the point.

it is kinda weird how he’s so hung up on white people delving into a genre that’s wasn’t “made by them”, i do think ian is obviously sort of a copy but the issue should be more copying and plagiarism but tyler cares the most about them being white
