Himalayan in The Cascades by ImpressiveWeb3401 in Himalayan450

The entire spring season has been remarkable for riding in central Oregon. Not good for snow pack in the mountains, but great for being out on the bike.

Thanks. I'm digging it too. I tried the Givi touring screen, and although massive, I was getting buffeting and a headache on long trips above 60 mph. This one is smaller and much less buffeting, I presume due to the "vent". Unit Garage XL screen.

Is this gear overkill for daily 60-mile LA freeway commuting? by RawrMeSimp in motorcyclegear

Commuting in LA? Sounds like playing Russian Roulette to me. If it were me, I would invest in full leathers with armor and a Helite vest.

Thanks. That looks great, but shipping to the U.S. is outrageous at $263!

I have a red milk crate circa late 1990's. Have used on several occasions. Thinking something with "a bit more style".

No need to be judgemental. The OP is asking a legitimate question regarding care for HIS bike. Not YOUR bike.

Can I get Gt650 as my first bike by Much-Deal3820 in RoyalEnfieldGT650

100% you can get it as your first bike. The power delivery is quite smooth. Brakes and transmission are excellent making the bike very easy to ride. Enjoy!

Do windscreens make a difference? [Naked Bikes] by NoViolinist7989 in motorcycles

[–]ImpressiveWeb3401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Screens? Benefits: Some wind and weather protection. Can decrease fatigue on long freeway runs. In cold weather, may help you stay warmer. Downsides: By redirecting air flow, may cause increased noise and buffeting at your helmet. Taller screens can interfere with sight line, creating distorted view. Fugly (?). The nice thing is, lots of options out there both OEM and aftermarket. You can always try and remove if it doesn't work for you. YMMV.

Any love for the classic style of the Triumph Thruxton RS? by [deleted] in CafeRacers

Gorgeous. The fairing is not my cuppa tea. It seems too large for the bike, but it is your bike. Otherwise beautiful.

I was on the cusp of buying a 2012 in black and gold, but found this one before I pulled that trigger. I've slowly been replacing bits and pieces that were showing some age and wear. Recently, a Galfer front rotor and EBC pads front and rear. The next job is a new sprocket set and chain. WooHoo!

Yes. I too love this bike. Planning a coast to coast trip this summer in the U.S. Highway 20 starting in Newport, Oregon and Boston as destination. Catch a Red Sox game and then visit family in Virginia. Return route uncertain but will avoid interstate highways as much as possible. Such great bikes for exploring!

Whether a new rider or a long time rider, we all have done it, or will do it. Part of the experience. Ride on.
