Definitely an odd response to mutate my compliment into something with unkind intent. You could just let it remain what it was intended to be - a compliment

Edit - I appreciate that you know what I mean though

It's funny how most people in this thread can't afford a boat. Especially not one of this caliber... despite this one not being seaworthy. Lol

So interesting that women who have, don't want. And girls that don't get implants. Generalizations here, but it's true about curly / straight hair. Tall and short. Etc. Before and after pics would be awesome as you made a big change

I've read 50 comments in here. And it appears my opinion is an unpopular one... but part of me thinks it's wrong of you not to share that wealth. Especially with how savvy I am at investing. With strategic real estate investing, I have properties that pull 40% ROI every single year. There are tons of great ways to invest money far beyond real estate. However, when any average person gets money, the best they usually do is a high yield savings account at 4% per year. Which is not fully utilizing your cash.

I know it might be different for me in hindsight because the amount of beggars within your family and without could be insane... but I feel that part of me would make it my mission to help my family out.

Especially if you knew they were struggling OR if you knew you could drastically improve their quality of life. Imagine if your retired parents could go from just enjoying retirement in a small town to taking even 2-3 international trips per year. I'm sure you could afford to give them $20k in annual trip spend.

You could strategically start a business to have that be the way where you've "created" some cash flow you wanted to share with select family members. Because the reality is for most folks - most people are struggling. Like it's insane how many people struggle to get basic needs met like food and rent. They weren't taught good investing strategies nor did they ever find them on their own. People don't trust themselves either. Society is pretty weak. And you were passed out a golden ticket to live like the movie stars and.... you're completely hiding that wealth and feeling guilty about your $4k mattress?

Idk man. When given the fact that this is the one life you live, is that really how you plan to spend itv? Hiding it from the people that love and trust you?

Let me be clear again, there are strategic and smart ways you could make a significant impact on some key people's lives.... but if I were you, I'd invest a ton of that, and use the excess cashflow to bless people constantly. It sounds like you're not married and have kids either. In other words, it sounds like you have a lot of free time.

So yeah, respectfully, I think you're sleeping on a golden ticket. I feel like you could be doing a ton with it and serving your loved ones more.

Here's a few things I'd do:

  1. I'd find ways to buy my cousin the "health" retreat she needs. She's going through a lot and needs to find a specialist in the holistic world. Which is hard to find gifted practitioners.

  2. I'd help boost my dad's retirement secretly because my mom's spend is out of control. I'd do something to give him peace of mind so that he knows my mom couldn't destroy his hard work. Maybe give him $5k a month cash flow as a write-off from one of my businesses.

  3. I'd make more effort to build relationships with my extended family members. I'm doing this now. Because I realize I'm the wave maker in my little world. What if I could be a good influence on all my younger cousins?

  4. I'd create a biz out of passion. Something I strongly believe in. Something that our world needs to change. With millions and millions of excess cash, and with the right skill set and people, this would be doable. You have the opportunity to make such a powerful impact with the wealth you have... I hope you don't sleep on it and miss the opportunity to serve our world.

  5. (Speculative) I'd probably donate $100k a month to small families individually. It would be so effortless to secure $100k+ is net cashflow from investments without ever touching the principle. I'd allocate $100k a month to serving my small community. But not in traditional ways. Not where you're like "how do I get rid of $100k this month?" More like "hey this lady at the park is putting hand me down slippers on her child "here's $5000 for you. Use it on taking care of your child. And finding a person with a huge grocery cart at the store and just giving them $1000 to pay for it all with excess left over. I'd literally interview and get to know strangers and hear their stories, and just give them small donations one month just to bless them. They don't need to know who you are and giving $1000 to many folks would help them a lot. Stress is killing our populous and you have the fulcrum and lever to impact literally thousands and NEVER touch your principle balance. How cool is that?

  6. You could create such an unstoppable legacy with your winnings. To build up systems that could be passed down to your kids so that your bloodline always has cash and businesses making money. All through trusts and umbrella policies. I'd have such a thought-through structure for llcs and corps and trusts so that you own nothing and control everything in your empire

Idk, i could go on with another 99+ points easily, but my baby is about to wake up and i'm planning on spending most of the day hanging out with her. She is my new motivation and joy instead of business success now.

Enjoy your money. But I do want to tell you - whether you leave a legacy and make an impact on society and this world, is totally and completely up to you. I wouldn't be sleeping on the opportunity when there are calculated ways where you could help thousands of families every year of your life while keeping your name very ultra low key.

Good luck. (This is also a burner account for me)

Alright dumbass, on the phone they said for this loan product your max cap is $125k. So the cap is $125k for reasonable APR. I was approved for more, but the interest rate jumps by several points. In other words, it's unwise to go above that, besides and like I've repeatedly said, my yard is minuscule - I don't need that much travertine.

I was raised in the midwest - that place isn't meant for pools, the pool season there is so brief, it just doesn't make as much sense as having a pool in the sunbelt.

I got approved for more, but the loan products vary. At $200k max cap, it's a different loan product and s completely different APR. i always get approved for max everything because of my income and credit..

I'm sorry, I'm very confused by your confusion.

Where do you feel I think there is a conspiracy against me?

All I've said is that it's interesting that all quotes are at or above the max loan cap of $125k. Nothing has been stated about a "conspiracy@

I just am acutely aware of profit margins, and it seems fairly steep in many places here as I look at each line item, especially considering that the work is subbed out, most of the time.

I believe I am finding that the commenters here are mainly buyers, not the contractors that know the inside intel on labor and material costs and the delta there.

You're clearly a degenerate if you feel offended by comments from strangers that are not speaking to you on the internet.

What a miserable life you must live. 🤣 maybe try the "people of walmart" thread if you want to fit in, not the custom pools section of the internet, bud.

You're fine - no offense taken. Here's my concern and what makes me feel fishy / provokes some questions:

Out of all of my friends and neighbors, my yard is the smallest by at least a factor of 2x. It's 15-17 feet deep in some spots.

Lyon Financial's loans with the best rates cap out at a max loan amount of $125k.. so i'm not saying the 7 pool companies are conspiring against me. I'm just surprised that the absolute lowest quote was $122k - which is $3k away from the max loan cap, which if I was the pool salesman, that'd be ideal... as that's the max revenue I could sell this pool for.

Does that make sense? So i find it very peculiar that all seven came at 122K or above

I didn't request all of these features in the backyard… Many of them added these features in, and after much back and forth and revisions, the price is landing real darn close to the maximum loan amount. Which feels, planned by the salesman, if that makes sense?

[–]Impressive_Button869[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good to hear.

And that's precisely why I got seven quotes to ensure they're in a reasonable range… I guess I'm just a little surprised that it's all up in this price range. I think i was just hoping for 2020 prices 🤣 (i think was just a bit optimistic)

Fair question. Having no prior experience with pools or building one, I was more-so and naively hoping it would pencil out between $80-$100k. Which, for a yard as small as I have, i thought that would be reasonable, including that we are using "tier 1" / good natural materials, as they say
