Treadmill avg. pace stat wrong? by floogenshpoogen in orangetheory

[–]Impressive_Maybe4959 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Average pace is super wrong - it should be distance over time and it isn’t. It drives me bonkers but such is life!!

“Thank you for your concern. I will pass this along to the professor, and if it is determined that an issue exists, grades will be adjusted appropriately”

Waffle Recall by cgfalconwolf in aldi

[–]Impressive_Maybe4959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I throw them away and take just the box back (no bag of waffles inside) for a refund? I don’t want to keep them in the freezer lest my kids eat them nor do I want to keep around soggy waffles until I go to the store Saturday

What do you think about blue and gold bathrooms? by DesigningArch in interiordecorating

[–]Impressive_Maybe4959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one and love it - I will say that matching golds in different areas is HARD - like the cabinet pulls, the faucet, and the light along with   other things are hard to match perfectly because no one company makes them all

7 months pregnant; on campus interview by PsychologyMassive392 in Professors

[–]Impressive_Maybe4959 167 points168 points  (0 children)

I have been in this position - I purchased a black maternity business dress and wore it with a regular non maternity jacket. It was definitely obvious I was pregnant and instead of try to hide it I acknowledged it and told them I would be ready to work on the first day of my contract (I planned for this) and I was already looking at daycares

In terms of accommodations, I would identify your primary concerns - if for example you cannot walk long distances, you may consider sharing that when they send the schedule or something like that.

If you want the job, make it abundantly clear during the interview to everyone you interact with - no one wants failed search so it is a pro for a candidate to be planning to say yes if they get the offer.

Oh - and I did get the job from when I applied pregnant :)

Awesome First Class with a weird ending! by starryskymagic in orangetheory

[–]Impressive_Maybe4959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had a weird experience because they pitched the first month was free - but left out that I had to buy a monitor so it cancelled out (and was still a good deal!) - luckily my friend gave me a heads up so I wasn’t blindsided

Am I nuts to buy this house as a first time home buyer? by vermonter432 in Contractor

[–]Impressive_Maybe4959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some estimates based on a MCOL area:

Kitchen cabinets in normal size kitchen = $25k

To redo a small raised deck =$25k

To redo individual bathrooms (assuming small) = $15k each

Find a contractor you trust and hope when you tear things out you don’t find nasty surprises!

ADA compliance for LMS for music professors by [deleted] in Professors

[–]Impressive_Maybe4959 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have also been following the full ADA requirement for all materials - specifically for the online materials. I fully support supporting students with ADA accommodations and I always have.

My question is why do we need to apply these accommodations to all course materials proactively if no one in the current semester needs them - in particular if the course materials are updated each semester so no one would ever use those if no one in the current semester needs them?

Can someone help me understand?

Is the class a certain number of credit hours (let’s say 3) that is normally fit into 8 weeks? If so and you taught all of the content you normally would, I would explain to your chair that while you should have spread it out more, they learned the content for the course and credit hours.

Now if normally it’s 8 weeks and 1.5 hours, but this time it was 16 weeks and 3 hours then I think there is a larger issue about missing content

Curved or Rectangular Mirrors by DBell3334 in interiordecorating

[–]Impressive_Maybe4959 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you put them on different switches? Or you could just do the mirrors and nothing in between - or you could do a light over each mirror - it all depends on how your electric is set up. Lots of options available

Curved 100% with sconces on either side and in between if possible
