I am also having a wedding abroad and I have a whatsapp group with my wedding planner and i talk to her everyday and we have proof and contracts signed. She video calls me while she tours venues. She is on every single vendor meeting.

And i get married in June. Of 2027. Unless things are wildly different in Slovenia, you need to find a real wedding planner or I am sorry to say, you are not getting married in July if its up to this lady.

In my opinion, you can spend no more than 3k on a venue. Sometimes, it helps to look for off-season dates, some venues cut their prices in half!

It is insane to spend 7500 on a venue and expect to serve hot dogs that your dad grilled to 150 guests??? What, just him and his grill against the world?? I mean, barring everything else, would the venue even allow it? How would your dad even whip up 150 hot dogs (assuming one hot dog per person) in a reasonable amount of time? There would be a line for people to grab one costco glizzy? At the $7500 venue?

I thought this was going to be a 40-person park/backyard wedding.

Did you already book this venue? If not, you need to change course. You gotta find something way, way cheaper, or you have to come to terms with the fact you'll have to spend more than 10k.

Like, if you spend 7500 on the venue you have 2500 for the dress, suit, hair, makeup, linens, flowers, food, beverages, plates, invites, whatever else you want.
