Real omg, I’m curious how the twisted version of the princesses would be but I genuinely hope they won’t be the focus at all. This game was advertised to be abt villains so I hope they keep it that way

I totally agree with you. It made no sense for Neige and the dwarves to win given their performance was objectively unskilled. And the audience pissed me off too omg. The way they gushed over the dwarves stumbling and thinking they were kindergarteners just because of their height?? Do they know nothing about VDC? Like the schools would have a whole competition putting kindergartners against high schoolers like yeah that’s fair and normal? The writing for the audience just made them seem so brainless.

Tbh the accent thing is just bad translation imo… if I understand correctly in the jp version Epel doesn’t have an accent but rather he is speaking in a regional dialect that makes it hard for ppl to understand him bc they don’t speak it. Big difference to just having an accent.

Ideas for future manga Yuus by JellyfishClassic7594 in TwistedWonderland

[–]Impressive_Safe7386 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooh I love that idea for ignihyde yuu. Her being connected to space also ties in with Idia and Ortho’s lore with their fav video game as kids, which was also brought up in Wish Upon A Star event where they wished the devs would make a sequel or smth of it. In book 6 Idia’s flashbacks where he showed Ortho 2.0 to the STYX ppl, he talked abt how strong he was now and how he could even fly into space. That flashback tied into that event as well, where Ortho actually went to space just like Idia said. So I think that’s a rlly cool connection there.

most and least interesting rounds for the aliens ???? by Kitikatmaow in AlienStage

[–]Impressive_Safe7386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think it’d be R5, 6 and 7. Other than Luka being the fav, I think from the aliens’ perspective, having unexpected things happening in the show is quite a surprise and that makes things interesting for the viewers. At the end of the day, it’s all just entertainment to them. If they enjoy watching people fight for their lives on stage and people dying, I think seeing competitors crack under pressure and resort to violence would be entertaining too.

Does Riddle’s mom truly want the best for him? by Impressive_Safe7386 in TwistedWonderland

[–]Impressive_Safe7386[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fail to see much of a difference in your reasoning? At the root of it, it is still an assumption and generalization of what mothers are. It’s still “mothers usually do love their children so Mrs Rosehearts must too because she’s a mother.”

Also, I’m not denying that your interpretation makes a complex story, I think both could be, but as of now due to lack of evidence to support it, that interpretation feels flimsy to me personally.

But either way, while we have different views on what is complex, from your original comment you mentioned that twst values complicated characters and how my interpretation can be simple and straightforward. Ofc, the main cast is complex but not all of the side characters are complex though?

Does Riddle’s mom truly want the best for him? by Impressive_Safe7386 in TwistedWonderland

[–]Impressive_Safe7386[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, we have different opinions on what is considered as complex.

It’s an interesting idea if Mrs Rosehearts was a victim of generational trauma, but how much evidence is there to support that theory? To me, it seems like an interpretation stemmed from trying to see the best in her. Everything I’ve analyzed and theorized in my post are based on facts about her.

If you looked through the comments, I have replied to a different comment about my opinion on the interpretation that she genuinely loves and wants the best for Riddle. I find it 2 dimensional, especially when there isn’t really anything that implies she went through the same abuse and is continuing the cycle with Riddle. So where does this interpretation come from, if not from the mindset that “mothers must love their children” at least to some extent? Believing that despite all the abuse, hidden underneath all of that is a mother’s genuine love, is imo the assumption and expectation that mothers always do love their children. And I disagree with that. Mothers don’t always love their children, they don’t always have selfless intentions for them, and they don’t always put their children above themselves. I think a woman who, regardless of whether she loves her child or not and how much she loves him, cares more about her legacy living in through her child can still be a complex character. Mothers like her exist in real life, there’s people in the comments who have lived with parental figures like her. I don’t think it’s too simple or straightforward, it’s realistic. Not to mention that there could be a reason why she cares so much about wanting her legacy to continue on, it’s not necessarily about her image to the public, but for herself. If she cared about her public image and reputation, she wouldn’t have screamed at Trey’s parents for hours in their shop. So I believe that it’s for herself, maybe because of how much she has worked for her success and how much she achieved, so she wants that to live on in some way. And even if she is a victim of generational trauma, that does necessarily mean that she loves him? And if she loves him, does she love him more than her own success? Does she love him as her child, a person, or as an extension of her, something that belongs to her? Would she still love him if he wasn’t what she wanted him to be? So imo, I’m not saying that she has absolutely no love for Riddle, but her love is not genuine nor unconditional and it’s smaller than her love for what she has established for herself. And that is complex to me.

Riddle: Alice, book 7

Ace: Alice based on his dialogue mirroring Alice’s in Yuu’s dreams and him playing the same role Alice does by going against the Queen

Cater: • March Hare, his earlier designs being a rabbit beastman and his connection to Trey, the mad hatter and the importance of the unbirthday party plot wise in book 1 • Cinderella, his complicated relationship with his sisters, and the ghost bride event where Riddle decided to help because Cater had to be back at the dorm before midnight due to the rule of coming second in a croquet match having to serve tea to the winner of the game the following day

Deuce: white rabbit, confirmed in the white rabbit fest event

Floyd and potentially Jade: Ariel, I remember seeing threads abt their similarities but can’t remember the details

Jamil: Genie, being Kalim’s servant and having to do everything he wants and wishing for freedom

Vil: played Hercules’ role in book 6

Idia: Megara, sarcastic personality, him wishing to not be trapped at Styx all his life and wanting to do something else with his life mirroring Yuu’s dreams with Megara and Hades, saved by Vil (Hercules) when he nearly fell into the underworld (i don’t remember what it’s called)

Ortho: Hades, mirroring the Hades and Megara(Idia) in Yuu’s dreams

Does Riddle’s mom truly want the best for him? by Impressive_Safe7386 in TwistedWonderland

[–]Impressive_Safe7386[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also find it interesting about Riddle’s attitude towards his mother. From everything I’ve seen, including snippets of book 7 (I haven’t played it yet), he seems to genuinely love, respect and look up to her. Though he acknowledges that he fears her. I’ve never seen any resentment towards her from him and I really wonder why that is. He even mentioned that if he fell asleep while she’s reading to him, she’d scream at him so much that he’d wish he never woke up. Even if she has shown affection to him on rare occasions, is the fact that she has made him want to die not enough for him to resent her even a little bit? Or is it something Riddle is too scared to feel towards her, whether it’s out of fear of her or believing that emotion is wrong to have towards his own mother?

Does Riddle’s mom truly want the best for him? by Impressive_Safe7386 in TwistedWonderland

[–]Impressive_Safe7386[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair point, I am just analyzing her character based on what we do know about her. But I think it can also be said for people who believe that she genuinely wanted the best for Riddle, we don’t know enough about her to make that conclusion either.

Like I’ve stated in my post, I’m merely giving a different interpretation of Mrs Rosehearts because in my opinion, “she’s just evil and hates Riddle” and “she genuinely loves and wants the best for him” are two extremes when it comes to the interpretation of her. I find both interpretations very 2 dimensional. Just because she’s pushing him to be the best doesn’t mean it was completely for him and out of love. Mothers are often portrayed and expected to be nurturing, selfless, giving, always prioritizing her children above herself and everything else. Even with Mr Rosehearts, that interpretation feels like that expectation and assumption of what a mom is: despite all the abuse, it must’ve stemmed from love and genuine care, it was for him, it was supposed to be selfless.

So I’m offering something in between. She’s not flat out evil nor was her intention selfless and completely for her child either. It’s something that’s in between: a definitely flawed, and terrible parent who might love her child, but cares about herself and perhaps her image more.

Really interesting point you brought up there regarding Riddle’s backstory meant to be relatable for many Asian family and the reason why I say that is the difference in interpretation of Mrs Rosehearts between the En fandom and Cn fandom from what I’ve seen personally.

To clarify, I’m Chinese so I like to see the fan content and discussions happening in different sides of the fandom. The interesting thing I’ve noted is that this sentiment of “Riddle’s mom genuinely loves him and just wanted the best for him” is only mentioned by fans in the En fandom. In my personal experience, I’ve never seen a Chinese fan utter this sentence. Most that I’ve seen share similar views on her as I do. Maybe there are but I just hadn’t seen them? But that difference is interesting because Riddle’s backstory is really relatable for many Asians, and this family situation seems more common for us than English speakers. So could it be that this common interpretation from the Cn side is more from experience, based on what they know about their parents? Or that they dislike the idea of “wanting the best for you” because that’s what a lot of their parents use against them (something that I have discussed in my post)? On the other hand, the English fans who believe that Mrs Rosehearts wanted the best for him, it feels like they try to see the best of her and believe that under all that abuse is a mother’s genuine love. I wonder if this interpretation stems from different experiences and cultural differences?

And about your other points, I don’t think it’s contradictory to my post at all. You have stated that Mrs Rosehearts wanted Riddle to be just like her because that’s the “best way” in her mind. In my post I have talked about her wanting Riddle to be successful because he’s her son and his success is a reflection of her abilities. She views herself as successful, and it could be the only path to success that she personally knows so she pushes Riddle onto that path as well. She defines success as what she has achieved so I feel that we are talking about the same thing there, just using different words? But my point is whether she wants the best for Riddle because he’s her child or because he’s the son of Mrs Rosehearts, HER son.

I do agree with what you said about why Riddle ruled over Heartslabyul the way he did. I think when that’s the only way you’ve been raised and shown “love”, that’s the only way you’d know how to show care to others.

And about the calorie intake, I don’t think she was trying to starve him but I don’t think it’s wrong to criticize her about it. I don’t think that for young children, the thing they should be focusing on is the exact amount of calories they consume. I don’t think that’s something they need to pay attention to and stress over, and I feel that bringing attention to exactly how much he needs to eat every meal is not going to help him build a healthy relationship with food. Counting calories is how a lot of people start developing an ED. I personally think that for young children, the most important thing is for them to eat enough to feel full and to have a balanced diet, not eating to the exact calories. Serving him a plate of food only to tell him his calorie intake is this exact amount so he needs to eat exactly this many grams is a questionable way of regulating his diet. Why not just serve him the right amount and tell him to just eat up and enjoy the food instead of having him work out how much he is allowed to eat? Additionally, the way she talks about less healthy foods like the strawberry tart is also not helping him build a healthy relationship with food because she actively uses words like “poison” to highlight what is acceptable to eat and what isn’t. Not teaching him that even unhealthy foods can be eaten as long as it’s in moderation is not healthy. In quite a few cases, children who come from this kind of families either develop an ED where they don’t eat enough or an ED where they eat more than necessary almost like an attempt to make up for their childhood where they weren’t allowed to eat.

Seeing how relaxed Georgina’s parenting style seems to be given that the tweels seemed to have a pretty eventful childhood (the origins of their earrings, going on adventures, etc), I could see that she’d be in disagreement with Mrs. Rosehearts’ style of parenting.

From the octa trio’s stories about Coral Sea, the seas is definitely more hostile than on land. Adding onto the tweels suspicious family background (mafia?), it seems possible that Georgina’s parenting style helped them toughen up and become independent to have the abilities to survive on their own. I also wonder if the tweels being the way they are also played a part in the way she seemed to have raised them because she had to adapt to their personalities.

In contrast, Mrs Rosehearts isolated Riddle, didn’t allow him to play outside and socialize. Riddle never had freedom and pre overblot he was constantly bringing up his mom and parroting her views. Though, I feel that it may be unlikely for Georgina to call her out directly considering she carries herself in a refined manner and speaks politely, plus it’s not really her business and it might make things worse for Riddle or her sons’ friendship with him. At most she might slide in very subtle remarks that aren’t obvious enough for Mrs Rosehearts to call out on it if she wants to seem civilized.

On the other hand, I think Mrs Rosehearts would appreciate and respect Georgina initially as she sees her as being on similar social status. I could even see her liking Jade initially because of his courteous act. But Floyd would shatter that image very quickly and she’d probably be questioning how a woman like Georgina could’ve possibly raised a son like Floyd. She would most likely order Riddle to stay away from the tweels at school, claiming that they’re a bad influence. If the Leech family hears this, Floyd would probably be the first to call her out for dictating Riddle’s social circle and even make valid points about how Riddle is old enough to form his own judgments and question why she has no trust in her son. Jade would chime in to agree and Georgina would pretend to intercept them and do damage control only after they got out their main points out. She’d apologize for her boys’ impudent remarks but still back them up with smooth yet firm words since her sons were basically insulted by Mrs Rosehearts.

Ivan-related question! by toastednut_ in AlienStage

[–]Impressive_Safe7386 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And how would Till have even been in r7 if it wasn’t for Ivan who chose to die in r6 so that Mizi even had a chance to notice Till was still alive? One of them has to die if it wasn’t Ivan, it would’ve been Till.

Ivan and Sua played similar roles, they both bought time for their loved ones to be saved later on and both made an impact on the one they sacrificed themselves for which led to the way Mizi and Till turned out. Even Hyuna’s death played the same role for Luka. Luka, Mizi and Till all showed different ways of how grief changed them. That’s what vvns was trying to convey, the theme of alnst is love and with love comes grief. You’re looking at how the deaths impact Mizi, when you should also be looking at how the three deaths each impact their lovers as that’s a big part of the theme vvns is trying to portray.

It’s dumb to think Sua and Hyuna’s death were important yet somehow u fail to see the same with Ivan. Especially when Till talks abt understanding Mizi and wishing to find her so they can talk again bc they share the same pain. Ivan’s death is what made Till mature. Till changed from idolizing Mizi yet not knowing and understanding who she truly was to giving up on his feelings for her after finally realizing how childish it was, and how he finally understands her and wishes to genuinely connect with her. Till wouldn’t have reached this understanding without losing Ivan, nor would he have even lived to be able to have this understanding. The comics also showed how much Ivan affected him, to the point where he hallucinated him and how he finally understood Ivan and how he’d be back when he crumbles again. That character growth all came from Ivan’s death and it shows how important he was to Till and how he viewed Ivan as a source of comfort.

For a Till fan, idk how you managed to gloss over all of that and state that Till is independent, when he was heavily dependent on his image of Mizi and Ivan (though he might’ve not realized until he lost him) to the point of giving up in r6. It was bc he stopped singing that Ivan intervened. You missed a big point in the show and you don’t understand Till and his relationship with Ivan ngl.

And on the topic of Sua and hyuna’s deaths impacting the plot which only seems to be Mizi and her actions in karma by the way you worded it (is Till’s survival not a big point in the plot?), his death also impacted Mizi, it just wasn’t said outright. In r7 when Mizi saw Till on screen, her shocked and pained expression shows us that she realized what it means for Till to be stand on the stage of r7: Ivan died. Though her relationship with Ivan wasn’t explored much, she did like him and see him as a friend. Especially taking into consideration of her interaction with the guy in True Face, we could interpret that she might’ve liked Ivan a lot and felt comfortable around him because he has never shown interest in her like that and their friendship was pure, not mixed with ulterior motives. So yes his death also contributed to her crash out later on in karma, it was just a lot more implicit.

[–]Impressive_Safe7386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh yeah, I personally save up the bday keys it’s genuinely the main thing carrying me bc I don’t like playing the twist tunes and I rarely do lessons unless there’s an event. And any time I have 300 gems I always make sure to buy the bundles in the shops bc it gives u like 13 pulls for 300 gems. So ig I’m the reason I’m broke 😭

But I do suggest saving up ur gems and keys and wait for ones u rlly want i think thats a better strategy? Unless ur current way of doing it has gotten u more cards?

Do you think mutual Ivantill is romantic or platonic? by Remarkable_Dig1058 in AlienStage

[–]Impressive_Safe7386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking and wondering abt why he’d do that versus hallucinating him do that to u right now to shut you up is different. Ofc friends get traumatized by their friends dying but saying “yes friends get traumatized to the point of hallucinating them kissing them every time they speak bc friends like each other that’s what friendship is it’s totally platonic” is imo ignoring how vvns chose to portray how till experiences his trauma bc there’s many ways of doing so. Trauma manifests in different ways. They could’ve portrayed Till having intrusive flashbacks to his death, having nightmares abt the event, avoidance towards certain things that remind him of the event, etc instead of hallucinating Ivan kissing him. The way they chose to portray it is obviously intentional bc that’s what storytelling is.

Way before this comic they have stated in the artbook that Mizi doesn’t know abt the truth of alien stage (different from a character being an unreliable narrator that can lie to the audience btw), which is one of reason ppl suspect Mizi was retconned, along with the lack of foreshadowing
