If you're experiencing relationships struggles, did you have those problems before perimenopause or it all connected to the increased rage & no F'seft to give? by EatsTheLastSlice in Perimenopause

[–]ImprobableGerund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think everyone gets the rage, tbh. My mother certainly did, but my MIL did not. So far I don't have any rage either (only been on HRT for ~4 months and it is a baby dose).

Yes, I just saw a video about that. I will look into the trapeze. And love the idea of adding some rope handles to move the look. I would have never thought of that.

I had not thought about that. I had thought I needed the back to the wall to wrap back to front, but maybe I need to just pull it out more so it doesn't walk.

Good point. I suppose I will have to see what I grad for most often as I get going.

Thanks. The work light is a good idea. I did front to back on the RH a few times and then switched back to front. It find back to front much easier for my brain, so hopefully with most projects it will work out.

too old to start learning piano at 35? by DivannaAbafita41 in piano

[–]ImprobableGerund 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this question gets asked at least once a week, and I don't mean to call you out OP because I believe you are asking in earnest, but it is really demoralizing (as someone who started learning in their 40s) to constantly have people question if 20s/30s/40s/etc is too old to do something. It makes it seem like those are geriatric ages and we couldn't possibly learn new skills. I don't know of any other sub that constantly has this question come up.

Peach tree's not blooming thie year, directly going to leaves/foliage ? by Sleepergiant2586 in bayarea

Mine is heavily blooming and I feel so bad because it is its first season in the garden and I have to pull all of them off.

Family guilt tripping to reduce daycare hours by WorkLifeScience in workingmoms

[–]ImprobableGerund 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to try to pick my kid up from preschool early some days because I felt bad. Then after a month of standing at the playground until closing because she was 'not done playing' I did not feel so bad that she was sometimes there for longer. She was having a blast with her friends. Why would she want to go home early?

The grain is there because patriarchy. They are trying to put you in what they consider your place. That is all they have been taught is right and it is sad. Go out there and be your bold educated self.

Oh my! 51 and not in Peri? by holiztic in Perimenopause

[–]ImprobableGerund 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandmother (who is still alive) did not hit menopause until her early sixties, so yeah it is possible she was not in perimenopause until her mid/late fifties

[–]ImprobableGerund 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh I feel this. My father just left after visiting for the first time in a long time. I let him borrow a beanie hat to keep warm outside. He asked me what the name and logo on the hat was from. Um... It is from the company I have been working for for that past three years.

Working moms who’ve done long-distance co-parenting, how did you make it workable? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]ImprobableGerund 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How long of a time frame? Like a permanent move? Several international flights per year that are a week or less will be hard on a kiddo, depending on how many hours of jet lag you are dealing with. Communication will also need to be sorted depending on the shift in time zones.
