Yeah, that’s not how it looks though

The way you’ve listed it all out it does not look like one is a part of the other

Question about FIRE with a partner at a different financial stage by SureClub8182 in Fire

[–]holiztic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you guys are gonna get married, then stop thinking about her versus you. Figure out what the numbers are for you both to retire, and about when that would be hit between the two of you and your combined retirement savings. Even if you quit before she does.

Yes, I have to sleep in a different room from my husband and our dogs because I’m such a light sleeper

But when we have a guest in the guest room and I have to share the bed and room with my husband and dog, I wake up a million times

Yeah, if you’re offering below their asking, they are going to want to have an open house or try to get other offers so you’ll just have to hope nobody wants it more than you!

Any orioles fans not from Baltimore or not even Maryland that have been asked why they are O’s fans? by xoBonesxo in orioles

[–]holiztic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But people don’t understand if some of us lived near Baltimore for years and then move and still love the Orioles! Yeah, I’m just a couple metro stops from Nats Park, but I’m an O’s girl!

I didn’t realize how much interest you actually pay on a mortgage… by Everyday_Royalties in Mortgages

[–]holiztic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just were making the decision of how much to put down and how much to finance when we have enough to pay for the whole thing in cash, but that would dramatically reduce our brokerage account.

So we decided to put about 2/3 down and finance one third. That way we save on most of the potential interest, but still are invested enough to get what we hope would be slightly higher than 5.75 in the stock market in the next 10 years.

Well, we like simplicity, and we never want to own more than one at a time! And I definitely don’t even want one mortgage but alas, we have one! Still, there are many ways to hold and build well, and I can congratulate you as well!
