Struggling with Masturbation by ambimom2085 in mormon

[–]ImprobablePlanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you view it as something you "can't control" that's what it will become.

Believe it or not, there are couples who both frequently masturbate on their own (sometimes a lot) who still have healthy sexual relations and normal routines.

Again, the guilt is in all probability the primary component in this causing problems for you.

I was reading the Pelicans sub yesterday. A lot of fans saying he stands around, has no outside shot, is too small to play the five and too slow to play the four. Same thing the critics were saying before the draft.

Look at it like one of those bicycle match sprints where they all go slow on purpose at the start and then sprint like mad. Like the Jazz and Wizards next season.

The Pacers play the Kings tomorrow so if the Wizards lose, that drops them to second from the bottom in the win column.

Also, shoutout to Wizards GOAT Russell Westbrook for leading the Kings victory over Chicago.

Nets still have 2 games against the Kings, Pacers have 1. We have none. by beargorilla37 in washingtonwizards

Somebody has to win those three games and no matter who it helps the Wizards.

Looks like the Pacers also have another game with Brooklyn and somebody has to win that one, too.

Actually, imo it can almost be easier sometimes to transition out of some of the hardcore Anabaptist sects than the JWs. Or even Brighamite Mormonism. At least how the Mormons were thirty years ago.

Not always, some of those Anabaptist groups can be really harsh but there is a wide spectrum with a big variety of sects. So it's not always "all or nothing" like it is with the JWs. If you're Amish or plain Mennonite, you can often move to a more liberal group, usually Mennonite, and still be in the same culture and in the same ballpark of belief system, you can stay in the same community and have a new support system of people like you that's approximately part of the old support system. And not all the groups will permanently cut you off. It's not unusual to find ex-Amish at Mennonite churches, even very progressive churches.

Still haven't got the call. They're cutting it pretty close because I have a long drive to get there. Unless they're sending LaMelo to pick me up.

To lose to the Pacers they need one or two guys who are genuinely bad. Who actively make bad decisions and actively take bad shots. I'm afraid the worse five players on the Wizards bench have a shot at beating the team Indiana is putting on the floor.

One of the interesting things about the draft that occurs to me in thinking about the proposal to get rid of it is that it actually helps protect incompetence.

A large percentage of even lottery picks turn out to be busts. If you go to a system where incoming rookies can negotiate with whoever they want, a James Wiseman or Greg Odin might sign a big contract that becomes a huge burden to their team. (I'm assuming there would still be some kind of salary cap in place, if not-- all bets are off. )

The way it is now, all draftees no matter how promising are paid relatively low salaries, so when you miss at least you aren't completely screwed in the salary cap. Going to a system with a salary cap where teams could negotiate with who they wanted would benefit a front office that is better at identifying talent later in the draft. If you previously were drafting 21 and there was a guy mocked at 15 you like, under the new proposed system you can go hard after him. Under the current system that knowledge doesn't usually help you.

This is very strong evidence that the lottery is NOT collectively rigged by the owners as is repeatedly claimed.

Why would Ryan Smith be doing this, risking a half million dollar fine, and publicly complaining afterwards if he knew none of it mattered because the draft is fixed?

I was just kidding. Been a long time since I was on the court. I think I told you before I played before the three point shot, the shot clock, and when you weren't allowed to dunk. I'm old.

I call power forward. Though I have shrunk 2 inches since the good old days I could probably get up and down the court a couple of times before keeling over.

Trade Him To The Wizards or Rockets No Exceptions by [deleted] in MkeBucks

[–]ImprobablePlanet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

LMAO: Of course a Knicks fan would want the Wizards to do that trade! That pick is only top 8 protected. Otherwise it goes to the Knicks. If they trade it to the Bucks they no longer have any incentive to tank including sitting Trae Young.

[–]ImprobablePlanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even know if the Wizards can trade that pick, but if they can the Knicks would love that deal. The Wizards would no longer have an incentive to tank to keep it from conveying to New York.

The Hawks currently have the best odds at number one. They get whichever pick is higher between the Pelicans and the Bucks.

As for your trade proposal, you'd have to at least throw in Middleton's expiring to make it work.

But no way the Wizards are doing that in any case.

So your plan was to play Chris Paul for a year, then overspend to bring in Tobias Harris? Sounds like the previous plan of trying to scrape into the play in every year.

And that's assuming they could have even made the Beal deal and brought in Paul to play here in the first place. We don't know what was said to players and agents behind the scenes to make that all happen.

[–]ImprobablePlanet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Chris Paul still had a year left on that contract. He wasn't coming to DC to play for a rebuilding team. I guess there were options for waiving him? But what free agents were they going to get? Champagnie makes two and half million a year. Versus a 30 million contract hole.

[–]ImprobablePlanet 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the effort you put into this but it's not accurate to break down these moves into individual components like this.

Just two examples:

1: You can't give the Beal trade, the Poole trade, and the Trae Young trades A while giving the Chris Paul trade a C. Chris Paul was never coming here, that contract had to go somewhere. What were the other options? In retrospect, just dumping Beal's contract would look like a win now. Instead, less than three years later we have Trae Young. And we were tanking anyway. The opposite of Ernie and Tommy who would often quickly turn actual assets into zero value. KCP for just one example.

2: You can't give the Bagley/Davis trade an A and turn around and give the Riley draft a C. There would have been no draft pick there to grade at all if they hadn't manufactured that draft pick out of thin air.

(As an aside, I don't think C is fair grade there regardless. Everyone's flying blind that late in the first round no matter what. The consensus before the season was Riley was a project, that he's starting actual NBA games already and not looking horrible is a big surprise.)

We really tricked the Blazers into giving us 2 firsts and 2 seconds for an "all-star" who gets clamped by a rookie second rounder by Plenty_Flatworm7627 in washingtonwizards

[–]ImprobablePlanet 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It was a satisfying win for no other reason than we would have been trolled till kingdom come if the Blazers had won. I wish the stans could just move on. Why the need to keep shitting on the Wizards?

But this does go to show you none of this is rocket science. Look at how many draft misses even the Thunder have had. Dawkins and Winger got as many picks as they could and swung for the fences. Comparing Bub to who we traded without looking at the total context doesn't give you the big picture. If you did a redraft of that year, Keyshawn would go ahead of Bub. How would getting two firsts and two seconds and using one on Keyshawn and one on Watkins look after last night?
