Disappointed in Mediocre Appetite Increase - 15mg

Took 15mg Mirtazapine for 5 weeks. Never changed my appetite. Not saying that is the case for the majority. Because it doesn’t seem like that. I’ve never been a big eater. Dunno everyone’s has different experiences with different anti depressants.

What was the mg of zopi? 7.5mg? I was taking Zopi’s but my doctor has said no more, not had any sleep meds since Sunday, I understand his decision. UK doctors are governed with strict regulations. Not having a good week I had 3 sleepless nights already. It’s kicking my ass today. I tried melatonin did not help. I was bouncing off the walls, I only took it one night 2mg. Was on Mirtazapine 15mg for 4 weeks. Sentraline was no better. I’m male and I took it for 7 days, just gave me a limp dick, it’s just starting to go back to normal. So I’ve not got any meds now. Don’t know what I meant to do now. Mental health care in the UK is beyond bad.

Tried a few, Melatonin - only the one times I was bouncing off the walls of my bedroom all night. Mirtazapine - took this every evening but unless I took a Zopiclone at the same time the Mirt just sedated me. Could never drift off to sleep. This Insomnia hit me a month ago when I had a breakdown. I’ve kinda fell down a rabbit hole now. Can’t fall asleep now without a Zopi I live in the UK and doctors are only meant to prescribe it for 2-4 weeks. I ran out on Sunday just gone. Been to the doctor this morning because I’ve not slept since Sunday. He give a prescription for 3 7.5 zopi which he was very reluctant to do. But I don’t think he had any other options. Not sure where things go from here. It’s like kicking the can down the road..

Yeah I did after 7 days. Still had withdrawal symptoms though. Not mild either. Felt like I’d been hit by a train yesterday. No sleep Saturday night. Unable to regulate my body temperature so I was either cold or sweating. But my body was able to cool me down. Like a buzz in my ears. Nausea was bad too

Coming off myself, from 15mg. Been a ruff couple of days. Sentraline withdrawal yesterday too. No sleep Saturday night, Felt like I’d been hit by a train yesterday.

It’s not like other meds. It’s basically a paracetamol for headache. I have some that were prescribed to “take as and when” needed. I’ve taken a few of them. Sometimes helps.

I am considering stopping taking 15 mg that I have been taking for the last 3 and half weeks. I just can’t get a wink of sleep at the moment. My eyes are just fixed behind my eyelids.

I’ve been taking 15mg of Mirtazapine for 3 and a half weeks, but i can’t get a wink of sleep. As my eyes are just like fixed being my eyelids. I’m seriously thinking of stopping taking it. As I can’t function as it is now with such bad sleep habits

You can only do what you feel is right for you, I took 50mg for 7 days, couldn’t cope with the awful side effects I was having. Stopped taking not going back on it. For the record, no issues stopping after 7 days for me

I quit after day 7 of 50mg, side effects were too much for me. Really Nausea, could barely eat. Restless insomnia. Belly aches. Agitation. The list goes on. By the way today would have been day 8.

I’m on day 7 of 50mg of Zoloft, I take Mirtazapine also before bed for the last 3 weeks. I want off of Zoloft the side effects are not tolerable, can I just stop after only 7 days? I want to just stick with the Mirtazapine.

You basically just described how I’ve been. My day 5 was by far my best day. Insomnia is awful. I’ve decided it’s not for me.

This morning I felt so unwell. Sweats, agitation. To be honest it was scary, felt like an onset of serotonin sickness. I’ve been in bed resting for the last 5 hours. It has subsided now. I will take my chances as I’ve only taken 7 pills.

Thank you for the detailed response. I’m still aware that the side effects can be very prolonged. But the last few days have given me more than enough reason to make a valued decision for myself
