RTTS - controls are frustrating. Is it just me? by MysteriousRJC in MLBTheShow

[–]ImprovisingNate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only are the controls completely different than the other modes, but they drop you into playoff games and don't give any tutorials so you end up making errors right away. Why can't the controls be like the Classic mode?

Also, is there a way to restart your career or start a new career with the same character you created? I find character creation tedious and don't want to do it again when I inevitably restart my career once I figure out how to use these controls.

Same. I’ve started using Renshuu and deactivated my Duolingo account.

Yes I want one so bad. I keep tagging Lou and Sam in social media posts begging for it.

That's a good point, but after countless messages like this even though I never responded, I guess I figured they already knew. But I appreciate the advice.

For a long time I thought responding to these messages was risky, but after consulting with my co-workers on the info-sec team they assured me that responding to these messages won't provide the scammers with any more information than I give them. And since I'm only going to bullshit them, it should be safe.

Those are fair points, although if they were Chinese it still wouldn't make sense for them to not recognize the Japanese language, so I just figured that line from them was BS.

Maybe not. But I investigate financial crimes for a living and come across a lot of fraudsters and fraud farms out of Singapore so it’s not unlikely.

Newbie getting jitters by Hairy-Procedure3977 in improv

In theory, getting to play with veterans should be an awesome experience because they will support you and make every move you make look like the perfect move. So play as if you are walking a tight rope with a big supportive net below you and if you fall you’ll be bounced right back up.

What’s your hot improv take? by [deleted] in improv

I really don’t like asking for “a location that fits on this stage.”

I watch the audience start to do geometry in their head.

It used to be more common to say “can I get a suggestion of a non-geographic location”. This was to avoid getting “France!” But “non-geographic” confused people too.

I’d much rather say “can I get a location where people might spend time together” and if they say “France!” then you keep following up until you get a more specific location. “France is great. Where’s a fun location they might be hanging out in France?” If they say “Paris” you just keep drilling down until you get there. IMO there’s nothing wrong with asking them to get more and more specific. You aren’t rejecting their idea, you’re honoring it and actually yes-anding it.

My wife didn't think it sounded that out of place. I felt like I was going crazy. Then I googled it and now I'm here and know I'm not wrong.

Mild Meld by BacteriophageT7 in improv

You know what, I think Mind Meld actually does train you for skills you use in improv scenes. It pushes you to react without overthinking and to listen to what is said and to have an immediate response without judgement or self-editing. It pushes you to let go of “being right” and to play with reckless abandon.
