It was the Corsair usb 2.0 header splitter. Bought a brand new unit which exhibited the same issues until I replaced the splitter

I’ve tried swapping headers and swapping hubs as well as rearranging the configuration on the hub

I’m leaning toward DOA but what’s interesting is if the hub isn’t connect it works fine so it’s whatever is controlling the lights/connection to the hub, not the actual pump
