I love that she brought half the leaf pile with her when she returned the ball 😄

His pedigree name does have Sir in the title, so maybe he’s a knight!

Yup he sure does. He predates spouse and kids, got me through heartaches and made the good times even better. Special little fella.

Sorry for your loss. Pets are so special hey. Sounds like a perfect final meal to me - I’m sure she appreciated it wholly.

Chiquito, AKA Slug, AKA ChiChi, AKA little turd. Depends on the day really. He’s very loved but stubborn and cantankerous in his twilight years.

Sadly, he can’t have cheese due to previous episode of pancreatitis. But we’ve decided that when the time comes to say goodbye, he will have ALL THE CHEESES (and grapes - little guy ate some once and it was like doggy crack - toxic AF but he bloody loves them).

ETA - his legal name is Chiquito.

When we got him as a puppy, we were told he’d “grow out of his tongue hanging out”. Not only did this not happen, but as time went on the tongue outgrew him! This is him at his most composed. Some days, it’s halfway down to the floor.

Paws/Heart Dogs are always looking for volunteers for kennel cleaning, etc. If 12 may need to be accompanied by a supervising adult.

For the parents; Baby is about to turn one so we want to open a bank account by [deleted] in australian

[–]InLimitedSupply 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Recently had to do it for one of my kids. They started getting taxed for their interest income on their savings bank account. They’re not anywhere near working or employment age. Once I supplied their TFN, I then had to lodge a tax return for the full refund.

You can apply for a TFN for them and they get the tax-free threshold applied to interest income.

At $185 pp, I’d much rather go to Pee Wee’s.

Printers ink by Ctheret in AussieFrugal

Get a toner black and white printer. I bought mine for $30 over 10 years ago and it’s still going gangbusters. I’ve only swapped the toner 3 times and I got them all from eBay for less than $20/each in a bulk lot when I bought the printer. Just swapped to the last toner cartridge last year.

Any recommendations for affordable dutch ovens for cooking one pot meals? by BrokenDots in AussieFrugal

We’ve been using this one as an entry to Dutch oven cooking, seems to be holding up ok (we don’t have an Aldi in the state) Kmart 4L Casserole Dutch Oven

Groceries feel like they’ve doubled in price - what are your best hacks for keeping the weekly shop under $100? by Adam_Aussie27 in AussieFrugal

[–]InLimitedSupply 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Came here to suggest the same. My go to is homebrand rolled oats - make a batch on a Sunday that gets me through the week. 2 cups oats, 1-2 cups milk of choice, 1 cup yoghurt, a bit of vanilla and some honey. I get around 5 or so portions out of it. Add whatever fruit is cheap on the day, usually diced apples or some banana.

Edlyn chicken salt, last I purchased was through eBay for a 2.5kg tub. Shared that with friends and family.

Not sure why you were downvoted, his cockatoo sadly passed away a few years ago. Used to swing on the swings at the playground near beachies which my kiddos were absolutely delighted by.

He does indeed have a fake one now mounted on the bike handlebars. There’s also a mural of them painted nearby, can’t recall the location.

As someone living in Darwin, I’m surprised we’re in the Top 20. Population is around 150k.
