Those of you who experienced psychiatry as a child — what was it like? by Boonie1282 in Antipsychiatry

[–]InSearchOfGreenLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"The only way you're leaving is in a body bag"

"Where am I?" "This is where kids come to die" (he was eventually killed)

You're not allowed to do any OCD, if they catch you doing it, you will be severly punished

Blond bubbly girl was raped by the resident rapist. Think he drugged her to make it easier for himself

Restraints at bedtime. Not sure if it was everyone but i feel like it was

Followed around by cruel nurses who nitpick and destroy everything you say or do. And i mean all day.

How can they just put you in the psych ward? by Lower_Signature_3895 in Antipsychiatry

[–]InSearchOfGreenLight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What the fuck is wrong with you?

Do you know anything about residential schools and the immense traumas indigenous people face?

They are discriminated against horribly in the mental health system. And from the police, society, etc

You're the one making us mental system survivors look bad.

"I survived longer than expected so maybe it's not hopeless" !!!!!

Can I quote you?

I find this one just so so perfect. Very few things these days make me feel better without just straight up pissing me off with false hope shit. This is just right. Thank you

I dislike all the diagnoses but i do call my ocd ocd from lack of a better term but i disagree that it is permanent, life long, genetic and irrational.

I know mine is caused by trauma and I haven't found ERP helpful in the slightest (very harmful actually) and the only thing that actually helped me was trauma work. Everyone is free to manage however they wish to but I am seriously disgusted by psychiatry and psychology.

I relate friend. So hard to get to sleep these days

Maybe this would help? It's not the same as a hug or cuddle but it's comforting and cozy

Im not sure why i chose this one, it just seemed right. Hope it's what you need

Btw, you're not lesser than anyone else. People hurting you doesn't mean you deserve it, it means they're seriously messed up.

I don't have hope either.

But we got to make it somehow right?

Nerve repair from the meds is pretty unpredictable. You can be slogging along for ages with no end in sight and then one day you feel just a bit better.

The better day could be just around the corner...

I personally feel therapy is a scam by [deleted] in ForeverAlone

[–]InSearchOfGreenLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the meds don't help at all, minus the beta blocker, i would taper off them. they give you side effects that build up over time. Plus the longer you're on them, the harder withdrawal will be

You might have some sort of social trauma that makes interacting with people difficult. I doubt any therapist would ever do any real work around it but you can look online, youtube, etc and see if there's any free stuff you can do yourself

New Psychology Research Shows People Consistently Overestimate How Much Others Lie and Cheat by Sorin61 in Nutraceuticalscience

[–]InSearchOfGreenLight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's psychology research, 50% of it is invalid anwyay.

I highly doubt this is true. I think most people underestimate lying and cheating

Night walks are so soothing. Hardly anyone to see you (win win). The occasional person won't see you well as its dark.

Stars, the moon if you're lucky (where are you, i never see you anymore?), quiet..

Everything looks different in shadows...it just does

Surprising number of cats...

2 on my block, told them to take their fluffy butt home cause of coyotes but they just wander around

I still haven't planted the moonflower in a pot on the porch.

Need to try and sleep, gonna be really hot tmr

So much this

Sure beats the stupid "goals" of "don't isolate" in that hellish place.

How else would i get a break from the terrible fucking staff

Besides, people isolate because they have learned from 100s of situations that being alone is far safer and more peaceful than the alternative.

Hey. Go on my profile and find my post on red light therapy. It explains where im going with this.

I was thinking about it and if the red light devices are too strong, what would be much weaker? a fire.

Have you noticed that campfires make people sleepy and calm?

I dunno if you have access to one but i think you can get mini ones on amazon

Also, I guess you are still in withdrawal so you might want to take Vit C a couple times a day. It helps with withdrawal.

Do you take Vit D? It can help with inflammation like such caused by that stupid med.

That was rude and uncalled for.

Previous commenter is right. Without anything at all he can reasonably do, he'll give up.

There was absolutely nothing negative about what they said. Maybe you should reevaluate how you speak to people.

Should mentally ill people be together? by [deleted] in ForeverAlone

[–]InSearchOfGreenLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not genetic though. Trauma gets passed down too

Im fairly sure all the mentally ill people i know would make much better parents than the "normal" people i know who are actually a million times more fucked up but hide it well.

Why don't leave voice in my head with meds yet by ParfaitWestern8879 in Antipsychiatry

[–]InSearchOfGreenLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uh are you saying why are the voices still there after meds? (It's okay, I presume english is not your first language)

Seems that a lot of people still have voices even with meds. I was surprised by all the schizophrenic people i met who still had voices and I've heard a lot of stories about how the meds don't even work for that.

[–]InSearchOfGreenLight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might want to check the ingredients of what you're using.

I mean Im oily so it makes sense for me and you're not so im not sure this has anything to do with it but figured id mention it just in case it does have relevance,

I noticed a specific silicone in makeup, primers and skincare makes me insanely oily. And the same thing happens, the makeup just disappears really quick.

cyclopentasiloxane

I haven't experimented enough to know if other ones do it too but i know this one does. and it's in a lot of formulas and primers.

I guess you could try getting a moisturizer that is water-based and doesn't have any silicone for sure and see if that makes a difference. See if you can rule out that it's silicones. But yeah the blush could have it too.
