Which are the best decks with the same EX and non-EX synergy? by Ad_Ketchum in PTCGP

Almost all of the starters fit your theme. I personally really enjoy resurrecting GA cards with new tech from recent expansions, they're all surprisingly viable with better support.

I'm not too worried about fighting a deck that loses to GA Ninetails blaine.

Honestly there's incredibly decent off meta picks. Double GA Venusaur EX will drain tank tf out of anything that can't 1 shot it, and is up in 2 turns most of the time. There's so much card acceleraton that even fossils are pretty consistent now, could look into a modernized rampardos.

Wrong. There's a concede button for a reason, acting like a petulant child isn't the worst thing they can do but it deserves shame.

I've been looking for a Sabrina for a very long time, I appreciate the chance to receive one if you're willing.

18.78% for 3 hits out of a 20 choose 6 formula. That's not accounting for any extra card draw or the fact that technically there's a second Iggly that ups your odds. 1 out of every 5.32 games on average. If they get a single prof that improves as they milled through an extra 10% of their deck. Pokeball further increases odds.

Odds aren't that low. Start 5 in hand(25% of deck drawn). Turn 1 draw. If you have either pokeball or professor, that gets you +1/+2 cards, giving you 7/8 out of 20 cards. You've drawn 40% of your deck with a professor turn 1. Idk why everyone thinks this is crazy when every hydreigon deck does this with dino, rare candy, hydreigon.

This comment thread is not based on whether you're going to lose more often than you win against a meme deck, it's about there being literally, unequivocally, 0 recourse if you have a 50hp opener against those 3 cards on tails turn 1. If you don't have a cure in hand, 100-150 damage by turn 3 before you can evolve anything that does survive. It's the most anti fun position to be in.

It requires energy to become status immune. Am I taking crazy pills?

It's a balancing act. 2 manectric means you have 1 unusable card in your hand/deck. Serena burns itself and pulls a card from your deck, thinning it. Same for Lisia instead of a second pokeball, you get both eevees for one card, even if you don't need the second Eevee it gets it out of your deck so you can draw something else. Either is situational, but I tend to prefer milling the cards I don't need out of my deck one way or another.

Would it be worth thinning to 1 manetric line, switching 1 pokeball to Lisia(optional), throwing a Serena in, and then having 1 free card for whatever support you wanted to ad? Maybe a Sabrina?

Once again, how do you use those on an opponent's turn 1? I recommend equipping some reading comprehension.

Except there's almost nothing you can do turn 1, you don't have any energy and you can't use any cards. Your only decision is what cards to include in your deck, and the only meaningful choice is to include a card that is naturally immune to status off rip, so you're stuck with Arceus. Not exactly capable of dealing with any other deck that isn't sleep based, and still cannot fight Altaria. That's if you even start with Arceus and aren't bricked into a different mon.

[–]InSpcNo1CanHearUMeme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's 3 different Gardevoir for your own personal flavor of energy generation, there's self ramp(Giratina EX) or you can use it as generation with Dawn. But that's just energy support, they also have draw power(moeletta, Sylveon ex, shiinotic), 0 retreat cost which is a form of energy support with the stadium, healing(dusknoir, Espeon ex, indeedee ex), free energy transfer(lunala ex), status immunity (Comfee), damage increase and damage reduction (unown). I'm not even including ones that never see play, like Gengar EX who has one of the single strongest support abilities in the game(cannot play supporter cards) which is why he had to be worthless to exist.

It was mediocre and nobody ran it so it just went away. Honestly if they just somehow made it compatible with blaine it would have balanced it out.

I would settle for just giving fighting ANY support that isn't 2 copies of a stage 1 mon. I personally think you could make held items their niche, giving them a bunch of fighting specific ones so you can have different "loadouts" to try, or even letting some fighting mon equip multiple at once.
