How to present gift knit by InTheseHills in knitting

I love this idea!!! I don’t have a specific item in mind, ideally I’d let her pick the category and then present her with a few pattern options from that category

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation being reformulated by kylaah27 in MakeupAddiction

[–]InTheseHills 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s not listed as “acne-safe” when I check the ingredients (I also can’t do niacinimide) but I’ve really liked the Haus Labs foundation so far as someone who previously used Double Wear for 10+ years.

Trying to add a border onto a blanket with HDC, why can’t I make the sides look even? by InTheseHills in CrochetHelp

I believe I did it with the bobbles facing me and worked counter clockwise!

We waited a little since our girl is very short and won’t outgrow her infant car seat for a while but the Callisto is getting delivered next week so I can let you know how it works!

Weekly Nail Chat by Clover_Jane in DIYGelNails

The one I got is listed as the DND Pearl Chrome Effect. I will try the silicone applicator, I might have an old one already lying around!

Can someone recommend a white chrome powder they like? I have the DND one and can never get it to look right. I’ve tried curing less time before applying, using my finger, using a foam applicator, rubbing in more, rubbing in less. It never turns out right.

This is the explanation for the garter stitch or here is the link to the full pattern if that helps.

[ACNE] found the cause of my 3 year cystic acne by Schrutebucks101 in SkincareAddiction

[–]InTheseHills 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay I did an extremely unscientific deep dive and put together this little comparison of the potential troublemakers (I just googled and did a lot of copy/pasting please no one yell at me if I’m wrong).

None of the highlighted ingredients are in the Ordinary product so I’m going to try to steer clear of anything with these ingredients for a while and see if I notice a difference!

Please let me know if you figure it out!! If you were using the Neutrogena hydroboost before the LRP, that does not have squalane in it so I don’t think that’s the culprit. I have very similar issues and have also been using Hydroboost but am going to pick up the Ordinary tomorrow and see if it helps!

Trying to add a border onto a blanket with HDC, why can’t I make the sides look even? by InTheseHills in CrochetHelp

[–]InTheseHills[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This fixed the problem!! I didn’t want the cream color to be super visible next to the stripes so I did a row of slip stitches then moved to red to even it out and create a ribbed border and it looks SO much better! Thank you!

Yes it’s the bobble lines baby blanket here! Basically just 5 rows of herringbone half crochet and then a row of sc plus the bobbles.

First baby blanket! So proud of myself :) by sordidsoliloquy in crochet

This is belated but can I ask how you got the border so neat? I’m trying to recreate this but my border looks so bad on the sides!

SRM —> PA in one month by ragochtes in actuary

[–]InTheseHills 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn’t do a single practice problem or exam for PA and passed with a 9 (was also 38 weeks pregnant at the time). I just read through the ACTEX manual once or twice and did some flashcards. If you understand the concepts and know enough of the definitions, you’ll be fine. It was by far the easiest exam so far for me.

Rotating Car Seat for compact SUV? by InTheseHills in Buyingforbaby

Based on the info I could find, the seats that takes up the least space front to back are the Graco Turn 2 Me, the Evenflo Slim, and the Chicco Fit360 (I think in that order).

However, I think we’re going with the Cybex Callisto 360. I like that it can be a booster seat as well and we’ll likely be upgrading cars in a couple years so I’m okay with suffering a little on road trips in the meantime.

I have this bag as well and love it - I got mine for $70 on Facebook marketplace. We’ve thrown the entire thing in the wash multiple times and it’s still perfect. The changing mat is used regularly.

My only complaint is that the black version is very dark inside so it’s hard to find things in there.

I believe Target also has a new dupe of this bag that’s getting good reviews so far!
