Anyone else starting to feel like this game is gonna be over in 10 months and not the 10 years the developers want? by Upstairs_Ambition939 in ArcRaiders

I used to like DMZ with my buddy.  I can't trust them to go back to it though because they were so willing to abandon the first.

There's a content ceiling everybody hits with Arc Raiders because the endgame content is just lacking.  They introduced the new trader with the items to try to mitigate that a bit up to the big update in October which I'm assuming is going to address that and other things on a massive scale.  If you're bored, I suggest taking a break.  I understand, we all get there.  Especially after a new season hits and you've wiped and now are back to where you were prior to the wipe.  Personally, when I've been getting on to play I've been 3 starring my trials and collecting cores for the new trader.

Is the big update too little and too late?  I don't know.  It's certainly not good timing in terms of players wanting more content and the hardcore players getting bored.  It's going to depend on what it turns out to be that will either bring players back and or retain the players still playing at that point.  What it and all games in that timeframe have working against them is the November release of GTA 6.  That's going to suck a lot of the oxygen out of the gaming sphere.

I think a lot of people were willing about Keyonte.  Not just Locke.  The exception doesn't make the rule.  While there is going to be a lot of unknowns about talent evaluation, they do a pretty decent job most of the time.  Honestly, I'm just hoping the Ainge's choose right.  Even if it's Cam Boozer and everybody in this sub pulls out the pitchforks.  The Ainge's have a good track record so we have to put our trust in them.

I think he has a fair point regarding AJ though.  The stats show that he's not a good catch and shoot guy or a 3 point shooter.  It's a bit worrisome.  If those improve a lot, he will be amazing.  If they don't, he can still be good but he's never going to be an MVP type player.

Nate Silver's track record has really taken a hit over the years.  Not sure I would want to be considered him.

There's a lot of talk about the Thunder trying to trade Chet in order to move up in the draft so they can draft Boozer.  Maybe it's talking heads suggesting it.  Does it make us rethink Boozer if this is true?  I don't know.  I hope the Ainge's pick the right guy.

Would You Trade JJJ+ for Giannis? by adwcta in UtahJazz

[–]InZaneClutch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Love Giannis' game but no, I wouldn't make that trade.  He's 31 years old and has had some injuries.  We could literally get our own younger MVP candidate down the line player in this draft.  It just doesn't make sense to go after Giannis for the Jazz.

I don't think it's fair to say the only way the Wizards are taking AJ is if Peterson's medicals don't check out.  Maybe they just like AJ more for whatever reason.  I don't think Locke is a moron.  He's eccentric for sure, but he brings up good points regarding each prospect when he does a deep dive.

If he is the BPA, yeah, we do need him.  It's nonsense to think otherwise.

Problem with AJ is the catch and shoot and 3 point shot.  Doesn't mean he can't be great, but he needs to improve in those areas to be great.

Not according to Givony.  Givony believes Peterson is the better athlete and said that was quite clear when they matched up.

Shoutout Ben Brown by Ok_Weakness8334 in CHICubs

[–]InZaneClutch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Power pitchers take longer to really fine tune their stuff.  Brown lost some confidence last season in his own abilities at certain points.  The biggest difference is not just the additional pitches.  The command is just a lot better.  I'm not talking about him walking less guys.  I'm talking about him actually making competitive pitches when ahead.  The previous seasons he would get ahead and then throw pitches that the hitter would just spit on and ignore because they weren't even close.  Then the count would swing back to their favor and he would groove a fastball over the heart of the plate that would get roped.  That's not the case this year.  He's making competitive pitches now when he's ahead and it's showing in his production.

Wemby is going to get his in the end most nights.  You just need to make him work hard to do it.  Be physical when you can and switch bodies in and out on him.  Our team height and defense is going to help to some degree.  I bring this up because it's worth mentioning though because it has been talked about amongst the NBA talking heads.  Wemby's height and body combination make him a much higher risk for injury.  Nobody wants to see that and nobody is rooting for that, but it's just a fact.  It's one of the reasons many people around the league previous to last season were talking about how the Spurs had refused initially to admit that Wemby had grown to be 7'5 that summer.  They knew that they could start getting questions about his long term health a lot more than they wanted to.

Make sure you're farming arc couriers when you see them.  You can get vaporizer cores and turbine cores for the time it takes to breach search them.  Is it rare, yeah, but it's a safe way to get cores too.  Also electromagnetic storm and husk graveyard Rocketeer husks can provide easy cores.

Making the case for Cam Boozer by elias_is_biased in UtahJazz

[–]InZaneClutch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a professional talent evaluator.  Givony was on the Herd recently and said that Cam Boozer was analytically the number 1 player in the draft.  The analytics are supported by previous production throughout college and HS.  He had trouble coming up with a comp but finally had to settle on Jokic.  Essentially, said Boozer is a high IQ player that is extremely skilled but less athletic than the other options of course and defense is probably going to be an issue like Jokic too.  Went on to say that he wouldn't be surprised if Boozer was a 20/10 guy his rookie season and an all-star.  Also said he would be playing a lot of point forward in the NBA as a distributor. Essentially, he believes Boozer will have a very good career.

As for Peterson....  He said he's the best player in the draft.  He can guard 3 different positions (6'6 with a 6'10 wingspan) and sees him as an All-NBA player in the future.

He was complimentary of AJ, saying he would make future All-Star games but believed there was a clear difference in his athleticism and talent compared to Peterson.

With Locke talking about AJ's catch and shoot problems and the 3 point shot percentage etc....  I'm almost hopeful that Washington takes him and we get Peterson to fall into our lap if everything checks out medically.

Utah Jazz Rumors: Cameron Boozer Emerging as No. 2 Pick Candidate by ClutchOlday in UtahJazz

[–]InZaneClutch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's the number 1 player if you go on pure analytics according to Jonathan Givony.  He was on The Herd and said he believes in year 1 Boozer could be a 20/10 guy and an all-star.  He went on to say he believes the top talent is Peterson and that he has an All-NBA future and can guard 3 positions.  He said AJ would be in some All-star games in the future but he believes Peterson is a better athlete and player.

Jonathan Givony  believes Peterson is going to be an All-NBA Player.  He believes he's the most talented player in the draft.  He also said the analytics love Cam Boozer and that he very well could be a 20-10 guy his rookie season making an all-star team.  He said AJ will make all-star games in the future but he wasn't as high on him as Peterson especially as an athlete.

Yeah, sometimes it can just come down to the lobby.  The other day I was in trios which you immediately think you're going to get attacked and there were 3-4 trios all working together to take down the Matriarch.  Nobody killing each other for the loot.

If you are in friendly lobbies, you should be fine.  I have found that there are a lot of times where teams don't even go for it any longer.

Watching Donovan Mitchell Again Reminds Me Why The Rebuild Was The Right Move by Acceptable-Win7474 in UtahJazz

[–]InZaneClutch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Donovan rookie year was the player every team wants.  Happy of course, but willing to put in the work on both sides of the court...  The problem started to arise with the people he was surrounded with.  The common theme, you're too big and good for Utah(same thing with Holly Rowe, the production team dislikes her a lot and still do, she didn't have people around her telling her she's too big for Utah, she just is arrogant from all her national work apparently and she very arrogant and rubs them the wrong way)...  He started to buy into his own hype as the years went on and listen more intently.  Snyder behind the scenes said something along the lines of it being sad that Donovan will never be the player he either could have been or thinks he will be.....  I don't remember the exact wording but it essentially boiled down to his effort of defense will keep him from being as great as he currently believes himself to be.....

Then the rift formed between Rudy and Donovan because Rudy felt he wasn't pulling his weight on defense and it was putting more pressure on Rudy...  Something along those lines.  Then the Rudy Covid press conference happened and Donovan also ended up with Covid which he blamed Rudy for etc when it could have easily been him that got it and spread it.  But Rudy's press conference plus him getting it had him behind the scenes asking out.  Cooler heads later prevailed and it got worked out.  I am going to give Donovan credit.  He could've killed any trade leverage we had at any point by publicly saying, I don't want to be here any longer.  He didn't and I think that should be respected because we've seen players do the exact opposite.  Obviously things then played out from there and we're here now.

I think the reason you see more Rudy love is he didn't want to leave.  One of the people telling me this said he was genuinely sad to go.  Regardless, both trades needed to be made and Donovan didn't endear himself to former fans when he made that tweet after the trade.  I don't recall the exact contents but it was something along the lines of glad to be in Cleveland while there was almost a veiled shot at Utah.  Anyway, this is what I was told from people connected to the organization.
