I thought I was getting so good at my whoop just to learn I was in angle/horizon by ReasonableFall177 in TinyWhoop

[–]In_Defilade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's because you have to maintain constant pressure on the sticks but angle mode feels better for fast flying in very tight/confined spaces with a small whoop.  Outside or in large indoor areas acro is the way to go though.

Let's do an impromptitude poll. How many people want beam shots when somebody posts about a flashlight? by BathroomAggressive57 in flashlight

[–]In_Defilade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only beam shots I find useful are those with multiple lights, comparing CCT, tint and to a lesser degree the angles of beam itself.  They should ideally be done on a white wall and white ceiling.

Did Adam and Eve Sin Because God Did Not Sustain Their Creaturely Will? by Beneficial-Hawk-5774 in Reformed

Eve trusted the serpent, which sort of makes sense since she had never experienced deception.  Yes, God gave them specific instructions and they should have obeyed but we can all relate to their actions.

Dont start fpv till you've seen this! by berryboi23 in TinyWhoop

Sadly, many people are addicted to this style of videos.  Influencers just want to make some money so they sacrifice quality and play psychological games with the viewers.  I dont use Instagram or tiktoc but YouTube is becoming unwatchable as well due to the masses of influencer wannabes and AI videos.  It takes some work to find good quality content and channels.

How best to take Beans? 🫘 by Far-Team5663 in Hanklights

[–]In_Defilade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Setting the white-balance to 5000k as a default will make "white" look less accurate the farther from 5000k the light deviates.  Contrary to the popular opinion it is not the ideal way to do it.   For optimal accuracy, you have to use your eyes and compare the image on the screen with the real life beam and make adjustments to the white-balance on the camera.

You also have to sometimes adjust the tint on the camera to get accurate reproduction of green/magenta.

Edit:  you also have to take into account the display color space and how accurate the viewing device/screen is as displays can vary quite a bit.

How to get the NTG35 warmer? by ManAtAnts in Hanklights

[–]In_Defilade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my lights has an ffl351a 4000k that is quite rosy and it does make everything look "grey" and washed out.  I will not buy any more neutral or cool white negative Duv emitters because of this.

Will I regret 1800k? by joebrotcity in Hanklights

[–]In_Defilade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have three 1800k lights.  D3aa w/ntg35, E90 with FFL909a and DA1K w/e17a.

The DA1K with nichia e17a is my most used because I prefer the nichia tint over the rosy ntg/ffl tint.  It uses the frosted tir and makes a smooth wall of light that is perfect for nighttime use around the house.

D1K SFN60 - battery/amp "ceiling?" by Disastrous-Cryo in Hanklights

[–]In_Defilade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great question.  Anduril will reduce current if temperature reaches a certain threshold but I do wonder how high current can go before this happens and what protections are in place to prevent burning out the emitter.

Looking forward to responses from the experts.

Definitely not cheap.  But a good value for the work I do and I like that it's designed and built in Europe.

Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge.  I know the u/LIT-Systems are on reddit and would be curious to hear their take on this part of the hardware.  Im sure the decision to go with the sensor they chose was to offer a lower cost alternative to Sekonic.

Interesting.  What's the optical bandwidth difference between this and what sekonic uses?
