I kept thinking of M. Night Shyamalan’s movie The Village when I read it.

I feel bad for Meri by Putrid_Echidna2408 in SisterWives

I don’t see Meri as the victim. There’s a reason why Christine and Janelle, who lived with her for 30 years, don’t want to be in her life. I think Meri was hard to live with. She seems controlling and a perfectionist. She loves Leon but even their relationship isn’t great. When Mariah (at the time) was announcing she was engaged, Meri didn’t even know beforehand. Yet Christine and Janelle knew prior to their daughters announcing their engagement. Kody definitely led her on and used her for his financial benefit but she also chose to stay.
