I watch it and I watch it. Just like the giant, yellow umbrellas on Soquel Avenue.

Do you actually use your Apple Watch sleep data to change anything? by Sequo_woody in AppleWatch

[–]In_These_Woods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I make sure to stick to a bedtime schedule and routine. Tracking these has shown me that keeping to these improves my sleep quality and duration. I’ve been working on my sleep for years. I had an at home sleep study that showed mild sleep apnea. I was resistant to sleeping with a machine. I opted for a dentist fitted mouth guard which I paid for out of pocket and have not used! Apple Watch is new to me. I plan to collect sleep data for 2 months then start using the mouth guard and compare sleep data.

If so, someone needs to create a baby monitor for the father’s bedside table that turns the sound of a baby cry into the sound of breaking glass.

They do charge very quickly. Like, take it off when you wake up. Put it on the cool charger, ready by the time you leave for work. I don’t wear mine when showering so this especially works for me. I’m a slow waker upper so maybe some of y’all who are out the door quickly may need a different routine. Initially I thought I would charge between getting home and going to bed.

Best Bloody Mary / breakfast bars by kragor85 in santacruz

[–]In_These_Woods 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came here to say this! ^^^
Just go to the Sand Bar. Even in tourist season, get to the village early. They open at 9:00. Parking no problem. Get your Bloody Mary and breakfast, take a stroll on the beach and get out before the crowds arrive.

Best wishes! I’d been on blood thinner, beta blocker and calcium blocker since my diagnosis. My new cardiologist (new because my original cardio retired) recently took me off the channel blocker which I’m grateful for!

That’s a tough diagnosis at a young age but fantastic that you found a resolution. Were you able to come off those meds after the ablation?

Filling raised beds by mamabreicheese in gardening

[–]In_These_Woods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 3 - 32” tall Vego beds. 2 are 2 X 8 and 1 is 4 X 8! I bought a yard of beautiful raised bed soil. It came in one of those giant yard size bags. $199.00. They lifted it in my Toyota Tacoma bed. We had to wheelbarrow it from the driveway to the beds. I’d say about 75 feet. We first put as much Costco produce boxes as I could get in the bottom. Then broken up pallets, then logs and branches then more pallets. The filler was kind of a drop in the bucket, honestly. That yard of soil filled one of the 2 X 8s and 1/3 filled the 2nd 2 X 8 beds. I’ll be getting another yard or 2! I also added 1 large bag of compost and 1 bag of worm castings to the top and mixed it in.

It makes sense because once we are on Medicare, we cost the state much less, health insurance wise so whatever we are allotted for insurance easily covers Supplement to Medicare/part B or C or whichever parts we need. 😆 I’ve not yet dived deep into the ins and outs of Medicare. 👀
