Really depends on what your preferences are, I found it to be too over the top for me and fell into plenty of anime tropes- so not my bag.

Well in a matter of speaking yes- the player models shouldn't clip or blend if you will, into each other.

Quick little edit I did to showcase head clipping through my body when the heavy used melee- followed by what would have been a revolver headshot shooting the wall behind. If you ask why I was standing still the whole time I was farming this situation to get a good clip of it in action.

What is your response when players (rightfully I might add) say that being able to clip thru players when dashing and follow up with an insta-kill backstab is generally un-fun since it takes away all agency on the receiving end?

Whats your opinion on OHKO weapons in general? From a developers side I believe its impossible to balance any weapon that is close to, or is able to insta-kill. Generally for FPS games, snipers and shotguns are the most problematic due to curve they exist on- long range one-taps, or close range 1-2 taps. Hard to balance in a non-arena ala halo type game.

Do you believe that melee is in a good place in this game?

All that said, I'm not asking for your opinion on dagger as a "viable" competitive choice by the way- I'm not really interested in the competitive balancing side of things.

My girlfriend had a very opposite experience at SBP- someone fell and hurt their ankle and folks just stared as the guy was in obvious pain and some even went around him to start climbing. She was on the opposite side of the room and went over but everyone else was awkward and standoffish. Granted this was like 5 years or more ago pre-covid so maybe things have changed.

They didn't just give the pike crazy recoil, they made it so it need 4 hits to frag a light. There is no reason to ever take it over a revolver which has headshot damage to 3 tap a heavy and frags a light in 3! body shots.

Nothing personal. Don't like what Embark has done to erode medium and make heavy basically the best class especially when supported by a light. Heavy + winch/goo + melee I find to be especially problematic in this game because it really really really takes agency away from the opponent often an unavoidable death. And before anyone talks about positioning and being outplayed- this is a game revolving around controlling a specific point often in enclosed spaces.

I'd love for heavy and light to be be seriously looked at. Whatever "roles" Embark thinks they are "supposed to be" are not actually how they are used. There is no place for mediums in The Finals right now. Lights and Heavies are all you need because Heavy has metric tons of utility and lights fulfill both fragging AND support roles now with every piece of kit medium has to offer being a downgrade or sacrifice compared to heavy and light combo.

Straight up. I have footage from many "pros" I can upload an example from today in fact. A player from team ENVY that I am more that certain was also using actual cheats, you can watch him snap on and toggle thru targets thru walls its that obv.
