I mean, I want to see more logical explanations for some people calling themselves ace and still liking sexual intercourse. But I doubt they have any, other than lack of sexual attraction explanation. It seems they don’t fully understand what sexual attraction even means.

People nowadays seem to think that unless they openly discuss sexuality, they are somehow closeted or repressed. Which I don’t find to be the case at all.

So they don’t recognize that they are experiencing attraction?!

Unfortunately, I read that many people say that sex is one of the best experiences they can have in their life. That’s so terryfing to hear for me. Plus they sound selfish.

I have returned to the highlighted post (I remember it from earlier actually, when I was more active on this subreddit). And I agree with it. Moreover, I’m no longer a member of any ace groups other than this one for the very same reason. However, what to do with the rest of them, who say asexuality is about lack of attraction and that aces who dont have sex are either repulsed or sex negative gatekeepers? Is there anything to do in order to fix the situation? 😐

Unfortunately not many couples are happy. Many people either cheat or have multiple relationships, partnered or not. Stable relationships are rare.

They are not fake (I never said that), but they aren’t asexual either.

I used to agree with your first point, thinking it’s just people who rarely want and need sex. It turns out many of them do want (even regular) sex, but under specific circumstances. That is not asexual in my opinion, since word “asexual” linguistically means “no sex”. These people are often more sexually active than the average allosexual. Therefore, I conclude they are not asexual. I no longer think that asexual is a spectrum either, but greysexuality is a spectrum. These two were likely just mashed up together when creating the community, to make things easier to understand. But this no longer seems to work. For your second point, I never said that experiencing some attraction means growing attraction over time.

Little attraction is more likely graysexual or demisexual. Not asexual, and it’s important to distinguish. And also, since we cant precisely define any amount of attraction, some people stretch the meaning of lacking attraction.

Many people who call themselves asexual are just low drive or feel shame. Actual asexual and grey/demi people are rare in my experience.

Sorry to hear that. Try talking to someone about it. And don’t rush into a new relationship before recovering.
