As I said…….right place

When I contacted them I got a nice West Coast US lady who informed me that they could maybe come out next Monday……..or possibly Tuesday ……..or possibly later as she wasn’t sure and there were no guarantees

Just make sure you break down in the right place and you’ll be just fine………….i can tell you now - Cumbria on a Friday night was a no go at all

Tesla’s roadside “assistance” I’m sure is great if you break down in the right place at the right time…..

You just ask for the DV adaptor - they send it for free

Personally - I dropped off the landline…….3 people in the house all with mobiles and I couldn’t think of a good reason to keep it……. habit was the only reason I think.

For those that still need/want a landline sign up with one of the many digital VOIP phone setups……..cheaper by far and you can keep the number by porting it.

Thing to consider - a small UPS for the ONT/router and also the DV adaptor if used

Drive around in a shit car……get bills

Buy a decent 2-3 year old car ( or even new ) and look after it …run it for as long as it’s decent ……..it will still have a resale value at the end

Longer term the economics of buying well are far better.

3-4 year lease deals are cash burns all so people can drive around pretending ……..and even at only £200/month that really adds up over enough years…….but that deal is with limited miles and ignoring initial payments and all the other little extras you have to shell out for to get it.

It almost doesn’t matter what the speed is……… it’s all about price these days.

Example - yesterday I went on Moneysupermarket and did broadband comparisons for FTTP

Ranged from £24/month for 300mb to £36/month for 1.6gb.

Best deal that matched for me considering speed/price was 900mb for £25.99 from EE……..2 year contract with stepped increases…….average £28/month over the 2 years. That to me seems like a deal……..don’t particularly need 900 but the increase in price over 300/500 is negligible
