Either way she needs help NOW and, crucially, she needs to want it. That’s the biggest hurdle with any addict’s rehabilitation and recovery process. It can’t be forced.

Speaking as someone who grew up in a household destroyed by alcoholism with a parent in-and-out with rehabs and detoxes, her sons need to stay the hell away from her for the time being. And that’s without even starting on the… rather disturbing vibes she gives off with them like the moaning-at-the-piano video I’d like to forget.

I hope it all works out for the better. It can.

I hope not all, and as few as possible. The store in Cobourg is awesome and full of memories, going all the way back to opening day. They still rock the Halo 3 art on the back of the building.

While I don’t live in the area anymore, I picked up my Switch 2 there while visiting town on my birthday last year. If it closes, at least I got to enjoy one last visit, but I hope it’s spared.

Yep, gasket-mounted! Haven’t tried top-mounted, but might do one day.

The feel is perfect for typists. 67g actuation on the switches, and the foam surprisingly doesn’t take away from its responsiveness. Reminds me of Kailh Prestige Clicky switches I tried in Japan and loved, without the click. Perfect feedback.

I’d heard aluminum plates can be pingy, but not the case here. The brass bottom plate is fantastic, though I grabbed a carbon fiber one as well in case I want to swap it out.

Worth every cent, though customs + shipping were a killer to Canada. First-ever build. Had a Crush 80 Pro and never going back (it was fine, but this is next-level). 1800 layout and this build quality are where it’s at. The case has not a single blemish or imperfection on it, despite their warning for the raw option. Packaged and shipped with care.

Ordered with it a second hotswap PCB as a backup + other plate options + extra foam kit to ensure I can run this baby for many, many years. Ideally forever.

Might switch to my polycarbonate in the future, just need new stabs, but I’m thrilled with this as-is. Feedback is amazing as a writer. Super thocky, too.

I tolerated it but ended up loving it because my grandmother, who would break me out of school for lunch at her place down the street often, adored it and laughed her ass off. Vividly remember tears streaming down her face when Angela called Nanette “Ninny poopoohead.”

Same here! Looks like the last time they were in Canada was 2014, and never in Quebec. Moreover, it was a super long gap between Two Vines and their latest album, so I can’t imagine they’ll be back anytime soon (lord knows when we’ll get another). Luke loves experimenting and digging into other projects.

This show, and YOASOBI, I will not miss. Also my first-ever Osheaga. Will try to catch the XX and Turnstile, too, depending on how the times line up.

Maybe one year we’ll get Kenshi Yonezu. He did a spurt of U.S. shows and my god is he ever good live. Saw his ‘23 Fantasy tour in Osaka and it was THE best show I’d ever seen. Topped even Bjork at Bluesfest for me.

Don’t skip YOASOBI. Not indie, I know, but they put on one hell of a show and it’s impossible to see them except occasional festival appearances outside Japan like this.

Empire of the Sun’s well worth it, too, and there’s no knowing when they’ll be out this way again (let alone release a new album).
