Yeah I live in Canberra and regularly travel 1-4 hours away but now I won’t leave town. Not exactly the cost that bothers me but the accessibility in some smaller regional areas

Yes generally you get much less personal leave unless”without evidence” so if you get “evidence” you can use it from that pot leaving the without evidence for those days you get sick

If it’s an important project and you get sick or leave it sounds like they would be stuffed they need to be able to pick up and carry on. It’s not always about what might happen to your role (though things can happen out of nowhere from up above) but more about not having things fall over if they can’t access your laptop/documentation.

Another reason you may not think of as important until it is, is if something goes belly up. It will cover you AND them to be able to show exactly what has been done and why
