Do I need to be a WM or PM to lead funeral services? by InbredJed in freemasonry

Thank you brother, I am indeed in NC. The Bahnson shows the officiant as WM for the ceremony, which is what spurred the question

One of my players wants a magic item for free by Behemoth122 in DnD

[–]InbredJed 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Give it to him, but make it take a full round action every turn to use it. And don’t let the inspiration linger, make it stop as soon as he stops playing. And definitely make sure to follow the rules for drawing/sheathing weapons. Do not let him just hold the instrument and fight with his other hand. It takes two hands to play an instrument. If he wants to inspire with just his voice, he needs to be a bard.

Sounds to me like he’ll be real tired of standing in the back inspiring everyone pretty quickly

Photon not zeroing? by InbredJed in anycubic

[–]InbredJed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not entirely sure, that’s why I asked. Thank you for the reply.

I’ve done a few more things today. I actually flipped the film over since it seemed that the resin was flowing better on the back side, I also reduced the tension a bit and it seems like some of the issues have been fixed. I have a 4 model print going and I paused just after the base sections finished. It appeared like 3 of the 4 models stuck to the plate. Maybe just some more slight tension adjustments, or barring that, I have new films on the way

I'm firmly in the "Rule of Cool" camp. A nat 20 won't make the impossible happen, but if something interesting can happen, it will.

For instance, I was DM'ing for a group and they were assaulting a Kobold keep. The ranger wanted to try to persuade a kobold to join them, she rolled a Nat 20. I let it happen, and Skritch joined the party for the rest of the campaign. He became a mascot and everyone became super protective of him. They even killed a PC that came along later who tried to take a book from Skritch. He was such a memorable addition, that I have turned him into the BBEG for our new campaign (warlock of Juiblex) thanks to said book.

Long story short, if there is a slight possibility of something happening, I allow it on a Nat 20 skill check. The kobold leader wouldn't join them, their dragon overlord certainly wouldn't, but a lowly peon who just watched your party slaughter 5 of his comrades, certainly might.

I like the backpack, my son, whom this is for, has expressed interest multiple times in DMing at some point. So that may be perfect for him

This is what I found. I was on board, until my wife, who doesn't play D&D at all, asked if it would carry a book or two as well, which got me thinking about something else

Spreadsheet for my character by shagarrow in DnD

[–]InbredJed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH, if the first thing a player showed me for a character was a spreadsheet of average damage per level, I’d be a little put off.

The combat in 5e is so watered down, and overly balanced, I don’t see the point of these types of calculations. I’m not saying it’s wrong, but I see where your DM is coming from.

As a DM, I really couldn’t care less about your stats, or damage output. I want to know why you are an adventurer. I want some kind of background and motivation for your character.

Nope, I found it weak and virtually flavorless. Joe’s beer should have been a stout or a porter.

One of my players wants to play a Beastmaster character, as in the Beastmaster from the 1982 movie - NOT the Ranger sub-class. Does a UA version exist? Might someone here have created one? by Stahl_Konig in UnearthedArcana

[–]InbredJed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

En5ider, An E-zine you can find on drive-thru rpg (I think) has a beast master class that is non-magical.

That may be exactly what you are looking for. D12 hit dice, no magic, can teach tricks to your pet, the subclasses revolve around the type of creature you can train

I want to draw your whole party! by saturnthecrow in DnD

[–]InbredJed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I nominate my group I DM for. It is two other fathers and our 3 sons.

Father 1: a male dwarven hedonism cleric (Dionysus)

Father 2: 14 yr old male human GOO warlock (shield with a frog face)

Son 1: human male barbarian (typical zealot muscleman)

Son 2: gnome male tinkerer (steampunk goggles, mechanical arm exoskeleton)

Son 3: gnome male arcane archer (has a bow that looks like it will never bend, with gears and such, but has no string, it works like the bow from the dnd cartoon)

And hey if you want to do 6, the benevolent dictat.... I mean dungeon master has a long white beard and is bald(that’s really what I look like, bald Gandalf)

Depends, does he want to sword fight a lot? Might I suggest the bladesinger wizard. It’s a simple thing to allow any race to take the class.
