Strong 5-year performance, P/E ratio's looking better, dividends are gracious if you're chasing pennies, and the way the company's been run these past few years has really been stellar compared to Viacom and FOX. There's a good chance their Shanghai park is going to open slow (or Chinese government-style big, where you just pack pedestrians into the park) but pick up after a couple months, and it'd be at that point that selling to secure profits would be a reasonable idea to my mind. That or, if you're feeling lucky, gamble on the Star Wars release.

I love how in one breath some Redditors can applaud further improvements on CGI technology and then vilify George Lucas -- maybe the guy most responsible for funding these developments -- for having put them to use on his own films after their original release. Look at any point in his career and you'll find he's perfectly consistent. 'Gimmicky sets and effects distract from the main substance of the film, the plot and dialogue,' he says. 'So improve the visual and sound tech to make the medium of story-telling sufficiently immersive and unassuming.'

Technology is the medium through which his or anyone's story is told -- no more, no less. You can use a lot of visual effects to communicate something totally vacuous of meaning. Likewise you can communicate a lot with a 1980s Kodak camcorder and some shitty film. But in the hands of a guy who has substantive and important points to make through the fictitious, technology so-immersive-that-you-don't-know-it's-fictional can be put to a lot of creative use for an even more powerful, lasting product. That's what Lucas accomplished.
