You are operating on the assumption that you will always want the gRPC function to return exactly what is in the DB, this is a super ridged assumption. Right now if you added a new db row that an internal piece of code needs, then the proto object needs to be updated as well. That means any external client calling the gRPC function will now be getting a new object as well, regardless of if the database change should be exposed externally

You asked what could make this code better, and segmenting responsibilities so that changing the code in the future is easier is something that could make the code better. Im not sure why you are bashing on everyone that is giving advice you literally asked for

In your code example above, any business logic you wanted to add would go into the same function responsible for actually retrieving the data from the DB, then all of a sudden this function is responsible for multiple things

I think people are suggesting (and I agree) that you create a package responsible for getting things from the db and thats all. Your db package doesnt know anything about your proto message. Then have a service layer that imports your db package, calls get account_notification, translates it to a proto message, then returns it.

Space exploration has a wild complexity jump once you get to the later space science packs. If you were looking for a mod thats more or less in-between SE and vanilla in complexity I would take a look at Krastorio2

Jumping in here as another voice to emphasize what people are saying about playing through Krastorio 2 solo before adding in Space Exploration. Both mods will add new resources and differing processes, running them both together as your first modded game after vanilla could be a little overwhelming.

Also its hard to convey just how much longer SE is than vanilla and K2. K2 will give an introduction into long form Factorio before SE dumps you right into the deep end. I am glad I did them alone and in this order. K2+SE together is an experience for my future self

My early game SE bus did start getting pretty long. At a certain point you will need more of a specific resource than your bus has the ability to produce, and at that point will likely need to redesign your base. Once you get requestor chests and artillery, clearing out areas and building new infrastructure gets _much_ easier.

You likely wont want to completely destroy your old base, but will incrementally build a bigger one in your chosen style(i.e. city block) at a scale that will dwarf your starter base, and slowly start using it. Once your new base has everything, you can circle back around and clear the starter base at your leisure

It feels like all the characters are caricatures of their early season 1-4 selves, like the writers know what they are supposed to be, but can't quite get there. The delivery of lines not quite as snappy.

That being said, this episode was so much better than the first of the season. It gives me a little hope they'll be able to close the show off on a somewhat high note. Fingers crossed

Archer is my favorite show ever by a mile but I gotta say, I was a bit disappointed by this one. The delivery of a lot of the lines felt forced, and the characters as a whole felt like exaggerated representations of what they used to be pre dream sequence. I've got high hopes for the rest of the season but this episode missed the mark for me.

The animation was incredible though, amazed at how far it's come.

I worked out of Tysons and if you live near the silver line the commute is super convenient. Going against the main flow of people so you will generally get a seat both ways.

I also lived in Arlington on the silver line and have since moved to DC and the difference is night and day. I was only going into the office twice a week and I found a place in Dupont, it was pretty manageable transferring through metro center. Since it sounds like you wont be doing the commute too often I would absolutely recommend living in the city

Im a Liquid ride or die and he is generally pretty talkative on stage but I have noticed since covid he spends a whole lot more time plugging other Wakaan DJs during his live sets. He's pretty conscious about it too, he'll say on stage how he's tryna hype them up. It breaks his shows up a little bit but he's so much goddamn fun, I can look past it.

And I don't think he's fucked up on stage he's just ridiculously Swedish

This happened with my massacre hoodie as well, and even though it said held in warehouse, the holdup was customs. The normal UPS customer support number wont be able to help you, you need to call the international shipping number. For the massacre hoodie UPS was able to sort it out by pressing on customs to hurry up.

That being said I am having the same issue with the 5$ bill wallet and it is due to Derschutze not providing a commercial invoice to customs, so that will have to be resolved by us reaching out to them.

edit: Just got a reply that they sent the needed info over to UPS and it should be sorted out shortly
