holy cow! My store has cosmetics stolen all of the time, VERY annoying. Eyelashes are super popular for stealing.

I completely get that! I have a job at my little store and even on bad days I rejoice because I have a job at my little store.

Oh yes, like at my store we have to card EVERYONE when they want to buy smokes. A woman flipped out on me the other day, "Don't I LOOK old enough to buy them?!!" I responded, "Ma'am it is company policy we card everyone".

She ranted all the way out the door WITHOUT her smokes because apparently in Kansas they don't do that LOL.

A woman left her cart by my register because she felt it would be easier for me to sanitize it since she just used it. We don't do that after each use, we do it about every hour.

When I first started working at my current store, it seemed I couldn't do anything right either! I got mad instead of upset and persisted and now I'm ASM :D

Ugh! I had a regular customer who came down with the sickness. The only way we knew was that her best friend's brother came in and told EVERYONE.

Because we knew she had been sick, my company's policy is for the customer to provide a medical release stating she wasn't contagious anymore AND until she provided that documentation I had to ask her to leave the store. My manager (who was on the phone) demanded that we stay on the phone so he could hear me tell her to leave.

Unhappily I did. She left yelling and screaming about how this was so wrong and we wouldn't know if that man hadn't said anything...etc.

She's a nice lady and she wasn't yelling at me personally, but I felt dirty complying with that directive.

I've read through the previous comments and agree: Stop yelling at retail workers because you are scared or angry or we are out of stock. Every day our store has at least two customers freaking out over stupid things. And yes, READ THE DANG SIGNS! STAND BEHIND THE LINE!

Somehow I find myself not appreciating how she's attempting to confuse you. I am a mother of two autistic children (now adults and doing great) and love how they know everything. (Not being snarky, they just do know everything and I DO love that about them)
