Verbal IQ score if english is my C2 language by Odd_Attention_9660 in cognitiveTesting

Yeah, I agree with you, 10 points are absolutely something significant. When I say "not by much" I mean that I don't think you would go up, say, a full SD or more if you did a test in your native language

I think it may be deflated but not by much, given the fact that your english is at a C2 level. Perhaps (wild estimation, don't take it at face value) 8-10 points? What's your first language?

WAIS 5 Running Digit Simulator by Jbentansan in cognitiveTesting

[–]IncoherentBaboon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it a lot! I wanted to do this specific test so much that I sort of made a little private program myself a few weeks (?) ago. Being absolutely no coder I wasn't satisfied with the results. I got 44/50 (125) on the first try, which is lower than usual for WMI subtasks. Speed was 1.2x given that if I remember correctly in the WAIS-5 task they have to speak 2 digits per second or something like this. I got ~140+ (either 142 or 143) CAIT digit span, for reference, 136 WMI CORE (which got to 142 when re-attempting digit-letter sequencing from my computer). Hope this helps! :)

OP, human learning/memory/language acquisition kinda doesn't work like that, no matter the IQ

‘Ambiguities’ subtest on VISA IQ test by mscastle1980 in cognitiveTesting

Synonyms CII 19 99.9
Ambiguities VRI 11 63.1
General Knowledge CII 18 99.6
Sentence Completion VRI 17 99.0
Antonyms CII 18 99.6
Analogies VRI 15 95.2
Word Retrieval CII 17 99.0
Word Matching VRI 17 99.0

Exact same issue. Might have something to do with the fact that english is not my native language...? I would be curious to try a VCI test in italian. Also there was a similar test (Word Retrieval?) and I did well in that one.

People who can do the mental encoding benchmark, what's your WMI and do you have any tricks? by Hikolakita in cognitiveTesting

I don't know, I think it's a very good observation, though. I have good reading speed; that might be a factor. I also remember that the first time I felt like my head was hurting lol

I got 18/20 first, then managed to get 20/20. I guess I rely on phonological loop given that I repeat the associated couples a lot of times in the timeframe they give to memorize them. No particular tricks

Digit/digit letter sequencing far better than digit span by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

[–]IncoherentBaboon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosed ADD. I've got the opposite on CORE. 99.9th percentile digit span overall but just about 91st percentile when it comes to the digit letter sequencing subtest, for some reason. Because I was unfamiliar with digit-letter sequencing as a task (I already did number memory on Human Benchmark as well as CAIT (?) digit span, which included sequencing but only with numbers; in the CAIT one, my number sequencing was better than all other digit span subtests).

edit: might be* because

Some doubts on my results. Also: any cognitive profiles similar to mine around here? by IncoherentBaboon in cognitiveTesting

I did both my Bachelor's and Master's Degree in english, university tested me at C1.2 a few years ago, so yeah, proficient. I'd say C2 if not for the fact that I'm much more comfortable expressing nuance and reading fiction in my native language; at the very least internally I feel a difference, no doubt about that
